Previous deal here. Looks like the price has just dropped further according to Camel x3. USD$76.99 + $5.92 postage = USD$82.91 posted to Australia. According to Mastercard conversion it's ~$117, and slightly more expensively if you pay AUD at Amazon.

  • Saving of about AUD$22 from the staticice price

    • If you don't mind the few weeks it takes for the delivery to arrive from the USA. It seems that Australians are getting ripped off when it comes to RAM prices when you can buy it from overseas for less even with the currency conversion rate at the tanked Australian dollar. But i suppose these orders from Amazon are tax free for us aussies means no GST.

      • Not just ram. I bought an SDXC memory card from Amazon last night for about $30 cheaper than I could find it here in Oz.
        Tough times. :(

"It seems that Australians are getting ripped off when it comes to ALL prices when you can buy anything from overseas for less even with the currency conversion rate at the tanked Australian dollar."

        • Adjust for GST and the difference is less than 10%. Plus RAM prices have been dropping rapidly recently, Australia is usually a few weeks behind at least in price changes impacting the computer components inventory..

Nice price. This is $149 at PCCG http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&c…

I just the other week on September 23 bought a Corsair Vengeance Red 16GB 1600mhz DDR3 RAM kit from Amazon for around the current $116 delivered (expedited shipping) price http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008E3M4QS?redirect=true&re… and i'm still waiting for it to arrive through expedited shipping. So Amazon has some alright deals on DDR3 RAM from time to time. And also so expect perhaps 2 weeks or more for delivery to arrive even though expedited shipping.

    • Your Amazon link to Corsair mentions they don't ship to Melbourne, Australia. Maybe u used a forwarder perhaps?

      • +1

Amazon seems to have temporarily removed the Corsair Vengeance from seller amazon.com even though there's a mention of New from $73.99 but the listing has been removed. It was $73.99 USD. In any case it was a sale for Prime members and it did ship to Australia from seller amazon.com (even though it started out a few weeks ago as available to any one when it was $74.99 USD).

Oh well the Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB RAM kit is still available which is a good deal.

    • $135 at MSY, for both the Fury and LP Vengeance, just for a cheaper local comparison.

  • I assume ddr3

    • You assume correctly. It is DDR3 1866mhz CL10 RAM.

      • Nice price…

      • My desktop spec mentions 32GB max, UDIMM, PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3, 4 DIMM sockets
So, I guess this wouldnt be compatible, can you please help by confirming?

always think of kung fury whenever I see this kit…

  • Can anyone tell me if this would be suitable for a 27" imac. Was july 2010 model A1312 (EMC 2390).

    Thanks in advance

I don't have an iMac but I am pretty sure they use laptop size ram in them to save space. So this would not work in an iMac.

No. You're unique and special. (like tens of millions of other apple users)

You need to pay extra for less.

      • +3

As an Apple Mac and somewhat disillusioned (broken) Macbook owner, I find that comment offensive. I also find it fairly witty, and quite true.

  • Im getting AUD 121.73 delivered ? Never mind not paying with master card.

    • I'm also getting $121.73 AUD delivered at the end of the checkout and i've selected Mastercard.

It must have gone up in price by a few dollars since the start of the thread.

    • You can switch to USD at last stage of checkout and then pay with a foreign transaction fee-free card like 28Degrees.

does the Amex 15% off deal apply to this ?

    • +1

Yes but you'll need to spend another US$23 to get the 15% off - it's minimum US$100 spend excluding shipping. Deal link

  • I haven't built a system for years. Is Kingston HyperX as reliable as it used to be?

    • +3

Never ever has Kingston ram failed on me. YMMV

    • I bought this for my gig half a year ago, runs flawlessly

tempted to buy more but no need for 32GB ram…

      • +1

Some day you may say differently. Bet people a few years ago were saying no need for 8GB RAM.

        • Lol i meant that, no need for 32GB ram atm since it's only for web browsing and gaming, likely to change in maybe 2 years time

No point future proofing as I'll probably have a new gig around then

  • Does anyone know how RAM warranty works for Amazon? Would I be expected to send it to America at my own cost?

  • Would it be compatible to couple them with Corsair Vengeance 16GB Kit (2x8GB) 1600MHz DDR3 CL9 in one rig?

    • I don't see why not, but I think all the ram will run at the speed of the slowest stick.

      • Thanks mate

    All,
Get this from Centre Com for $39 for a 4 gb stick, check out: http://www.centrecom.com.au/4gb-kingston-hyper-x-ddr3-1600-c…

    • Nice try but major fail that's a single 4GB stick which means to make up 16GB would be 4 x $39 = $156. What's on offer by Amazon is 2 x 8GB sticks = 16GB for under $120 delivered. You do the maths.

Actually this is the right item that you should have quoted but still it's $135 which is more than what you can get it for from Amazon. http://www.centrecom.com.au/16gb-8gbx2-kit-kingston-hyper-x-…
