I've been eyeing this camera for about a month and this is the best deal I've found. The free postage brings to $392. Arguably this is the best camera on the market by far for this price point.

Correct. There is a good comparison between the versions on the RX100 Wikipedia page

Yes it is. I've updated the title. But really, it wouldn't be anything else. The subsequent versions are hundreds more. And this is still better bang for buck.

      • That's true

    • Mark 4 doesnt mean its 4x better. Just different configurations and features between the different Marks of the RX100. IQ of photos will be the same.

      • Not exactly true. Same megapixel, but upgraded sensors, a change in lenses and even processor between versions.

Personally eyeing off the Mk II as I want the longer zoom but also the wifi.

        • You won't be able to tell the difference unless you zoom in 200% on your computer. They all have 1" sensors.

  • That's what I paid brand new when it first came out!

    • I think it was a lot more pricey when it first came out. But the essence of your point is still valid. It's been hovering at this price the last couple of years.

Yep these cameras haven't really got much cheaper esp with the weak dollar. It really reflects how there hasn't really been much in the way of competition

I have this camera - highly recommended. It's a great travelling camera as it's quite compact.

Same bought it about a year ago for not much more than this price and absolutely love it

  • Anyone knows if this camera can be claimed TRS?

    • Not with eglobal. Its grey stock.

      • thanks.

  • It's been around the 400 mark for a while now..

I paid about $460 in June last year, the next night the 20% off ebay deal was announced on ozbargain :( I could have gotten it for $370 if I waited one night.

lol still haunts you, to this day.

      • yep… I would have cancelled it but the place dispatched it a few hours later!

Aw you poor thing, have a + from me.

  • Great price!
Would anyone with both the Mk1 and 3 like to share whether the Mk3 upgrades are worth the extra $400ish?

    • +1

There are some good youtube comparison videos. I think personally the biggest upside would be the rotating screen and ability to have a nice selfie cam.

  • Bought one - thanks OP

    • What OP stands for please ?

Oh - so it's not Ozbargain Predator then

  • I've owned the MK1 and the MK3.
    They're all fantastic.
Image quality is very similar, like others have said, choose your features.
The MK3's focal length suites me better with it brighter 75mm @ 2.8.

Images are amazing I leave this one with the wife most of the time for the baby and the photos are awesome.

Cannot recommend any other small camera over it. The Zeiss lens is fantastic.
