headphones - cant say I know much about them but a quick google suggested that the price is good ($179 on static ice) and that they are a reasonable set of noise cancelling headphones

  • This seems a good price, cheaper than US Amazon, but for travelling (which is what I assume most people would buy these for) these aren't the greatest option as they don't fold down. If that doesn't bother you then these are a good deal.

I definitely want a pair of noise cancelling headphones but just not this model.

This is a very good price for a noise cancelling headphone, you are paying about 20% of a BOSE QC3 but for 80% of the performance.

  • I have the PXC250's (next ones up) and they're great. If these folded up i'd probably buy a set for my fiancee.

    • I'm in exactly the same situation :) Paid quite a fair bit more than $107 too (imported from the UK, cheapest option at the time).

  • Thanks, just bought one.

  • i don't normally post, but this is really good price indeed.
too bad i paid full price.

I have a pair of PXC-150s. Bought in August 2009 from JB Hifi for $200. I lost my previous pair of noise reduction headphones and was about to board 40 hours of international flights. Not without proper headphones I wouldn't! :-)

Positives: They are quite effective at canceling engine noise. They don't do anything for higher pitched sounds however, like screaming children. Batteries last a long time. The headphone pouch is quite small despite not being able to fold them.

Negatives: The electronics/battery housing is a little long and heavy. Makes the headphones light, but if you fall asleep on a flight then the housing will fall down somewhere and you'll be scrambling around to lift if off the floor. I was forever concerned it'd fall down and I'd pull it up by the headphone cable, ripping it out. Didn't happen however. The headphone's speakers and pads are small, so they sit on the ear rather than around it. After 5 hours my ears were a bit sore, but that's the price you pay for smaller headphones.

    • thanks for the review Cluster.

  • Got one. Thanx.
