The broadwell version of this laptop released earlier in the year got great reviews. Main selling points are its thinness, lightweight, tiny bezels, battery life, USB C.

  • Are you sure cash rewards will still work after the coupon is applied?

Pitty that it costs a lot more if you opt in the touch screen…

    • +2

yep, but this has a really nice matte finish non-touch screen. plus the touch is higher resolution and therefore you get less battery life. having Windows 10 and the fact that this laptop doesn't convert into a 'tablet mode' means a touch screen isn't really a necessity.

  • I am looking at http://www.dell.com/au/p/inspiron-15-7568-laptop/pd?oc=y5108… can I use just the 5% cashback as my computer is discounted by 20%. Thanks.

  • I just bought a macbook 12 today at DSE. Although i got it for only 1470, i still prefer this one :(

  • new signup but looong time lurker, this code also works for other models, was after an XPS 13 for ages but am wanting to play games, I really like 13" laptops though, have an ancient Sony Vaio 13" but it won't play my fave game, Heroes And Generals, at a guess neither would the XPS so am now thinking of the Alienware 13, for the same price you get double the memory(today only) an i7 and gaming graphics.. + plus more weight I admit.. but the XPS bezel is soo pretty.. what do you guys think?

    • Depends whether you will be transporting the laptop around much? The Alienware is heavy for a 13" but if it's mainly on your desk, then it will be fine. The Alienware 13 deal at JB is still on for $1499 which is good buying too.

    • I'd Say the alienware is a whole lot of value considering it has 960M ( mid grade ) dedicated graphics - potent enough to run games at reasonable settings . The only drawback is older i7 processor and a spinning hard drive (albeit 1 TB ) , but that should not be an issue considering other extras that you get with this machine at same price

If gaming is essential for you , I'd pick the alienware . . Wait for opinions from other OZbargainers as well before diving in :)

    • If you like carry a brick with average battery life go ahead, at 13 inch there isn't many other options unfortunately, more choices in the US but less in Australia. The only real choices are something like the clevo (metabox)variants, Gigabyte P34 series, Razer blade, and Auros X3, generally gaming laptops are 15 inches.

  • well I bought the Alienware 13 r2, (It's a bargain cause it's the latest version and because of the ram upgrade I told myself) not planning on carrying it around much if at all, just wanting to appear more social when in my lounge room and wanting to play Heroes and Generals without sneaking off to play in the other room (have a 4 and a half month old) only catch is while I used the code for the discount I'm not certain I was logged into cashrewards so may have missed out, guess I'll find out soon enough, gonna be in trouble when it arrives cause I allegedly have too many toys already (yes OzBargain is largely to blame)

  • Any deals on i7 version?

  • Seems like the link doesn't work anymore: looking around the Dell AU site, they only have the XPS 13 from earlier in the year listed (i.e. the 5th gen cores)

  • It appears this coupon is no longer working, at least for me.
