  • Does this support all Australian bands?

    • +4

Like most dual sims this won't have 700MHz Band 28 so you'll miss on Telstra's 4Gx and Optus 4G plus, but it will support regular 4G.

I updated the original post with this in case people aren't aware.

      • +4

Single sim version available here for $691 with code.

        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-5-N920C-Singl…

Just link to this page. http://stores.ebay.com.au/T-Dimension-Limited-AU/_i.html?_nk…

T-dimension have dual sim a bit cheaper it appears.

        • Nice price….shame its not treated as local warranty :(

        • what the difference with N920I and N920C?

        • The single sim version doesn't have band 28 but the one in this post does.

        • @kei: They support different bands.. They both seem compatible with most Aussie carriers, but I ended up getting the I model because according to Android Authority (http://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-galaxy-note-5-region…), that's the model that is in the Australian market.

      • I want to purchase the s6 edge+ with them and find B28(700) in list. So that mean I will ok with Telstra 4GX? Thanks

  • I don't see how this fit into a wedding related item? Are you sure the code works for this phone..?

    • The code works fine.

      • Fair enough, seems strange that it would.

    • +6

You are expected to attend weddings and take photos using the phone.

    • Don't worry, I've seen drones in the 'wedding related item'

  • I also see they sell the older Note 4 for $619. I wonder how it compares to Note 5?

    • +1

slower processor, but you have the flexibility of removable battery and expandable memory slot.
The Note 5 limits you to 32gb

    • +2

The Note 4 is still a great handset

      • +1

The recent 5.1.1 update makes Note 4 significantly faster (lag-wise).
Also, IR blaster. You don't miss it unless you've used it before.

this does not have local warranty, its much far from grey import. At least grey importers have Australian address or websites to contact them, i think paying blindly around $700 to international sellers is not a fair deal, may be wait for Australian deals and you will get it around $800. What do you guys say?

    • +1

      http://stores.ebay.com.au/QD-Shopping-Centre/Warranty-and-Re…

AUSTRALIAN CUSTOMERS CAN RETURN THEIR ITEM TO SYDNEY. WE WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH LOCAL WARRANTY SERVICES!

      • thanks mate, did not know this. now i think its much better deal with peace of mind. Thanks OP going to buy one

    • They do have Sydney return address for warranty and returns.

Yeah, as a private import - no two year SAMSUNG Australia Warranty. And as it is not a grey import - that buyers could purchase from an Australian business - No Australian Consumer Guarantee.

  • +4

This is the Taiwan dual sim version, so yes, it DOES have 700MHz for Optus 4G+ and Telstra 4GX.

    • +2

According to the phone listing it does.
      4G Network
      LTE B1 / B2 / B3 / B4(AWS) / B5 / B7 / B8 / B12 / B17 / B18 / B19 / B25 / B26 / B28 / B38 / B39 / B40 / B41

      • Argh. I am so tempted. This or wait for the $999 6P

      • I think he is talking about this one:
        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-5-SM-N920…
        4G Network LTE B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/18/19/25/26/28/38/39/40/41

The OP changed the link before to a different, cheaper, dual-sim version from Hong Kong. The Taiwan version has AU bands.

  • There is a dual sim version!?!? Omg…i hate to carry two phones while travelling…

  • -1

Excuse the noobness. Can this be used with a local seller? I.e. Mobile Citi has them for around 900-1000.

    • -1

what do you mean by local seller

      • Australian with tax invoice.

        • still not clear.
what do you mean used with australian with tax invoice?
this seller is not australian business registered and will not give you invoice with gst that paid to australian government.

        • @erwinsie:

          Appreciate the negs
          Which part is not understandable
I asked if it would apply to local sellers clearly not this one!

        • +2

@erwinsie: I think he's talking about the ebay code and not the phone itself.

  • The N9200 should support the other frequencies. $15 more on t-dimensions.

    • +3

You got that the wrong way around, N9200 is the Chinese version therefore lacking 700MHz (B28), but supports TDD2300 which is good for Optus. N9208 supports 700MHz B28 that is good for both Optus and Telstra (more important than TDD2300MHz B40 overall)

      • +1

So in short, get the N9208 version.

  • OMG! This is so cheap!

  • Get this one guys: N920I
Its the international model which is sold in Australia with Band 28 700MHz
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-5-N920I-4G-LT…

From T-dimension which has free postage for warranty returns both ways.

    $661.12 delivered with 20% + 4% cashback.

Has XDA developer support unlike the dual sim models which will probably never get it.
Root and custom recovery gives custom debloated ROMs (which there is a lot on still on TouchWiz). Also gives access to xposed which offers an infinite level of customisation with modules like gravitybox, ad blockers, battery optimisers etc.

Getting the dual sim model dooms you to no XDA support. If you don't need the dual sim, I'd stick with the local N920I model which will be easier to sell too as it's what's available locally.

  • thanks bought one

  • Looks like its out of stock?

Whats your thoughts on this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Samsung-Galaxy-S6-edge-Plus-S…
it's ~200 more with no practical benefit but it does look better, just not sure that it's $200 better. Does this have all the required bands for aus?

    • +1

Has all the Aussie bands including B28 (700Mhz) LTE.

Trust your instincts - it's not worth +$200 imo. Just looks cool but screen glare and image distortion at certain angles is real.
Also you can replicate the software edge swipe features on other galaxy phones through an app.

      • I guess I'll have to wait for the next note deal in that case. I was after silver too so its a shame it sold out.

        • Couldn't believe how quickly they sold out in the end. I emailed qd and asked if they are getting more. NO reply yet.

        • @Zaychri:

Deal link is updated, gold and white are still showing in stock (silver out of stock).

        • The gold S6 edge plus looks amazing but for some reason the more i look at the gold note the more i dislike it.

        • @phobo:
It's the no bezel impression on the edges of the phone that makes it look attractive. That's what I like about the edge anyway. The silver looks amazing, I'm sure it will attract more finger prints though.

        • its back in stock

        • I cant decide if i want gold or silver! The timer is ticking since the code ends today.

        • @phobo: if you are female go for gold

    • If i went for the edge, would that attract duty fees as it's listed at over $1000, even though after discount it's <1000. The actual sell price for the seller would still be >1000 due to paypal picking up the difference. Not sure how it works in this case.

  • it was rumored that you can use the 2nd sim slot as a micro-sd slot. true?

  • sorry i am writing it here but i am screwed. this is second time cash reward is f*** me, i bought using their link but it does not show me any balance. Can anyone please help me out?

    thanks

    • Give it some time, its not always instant.

In saying that though, how long has it been since your last purchase?

What process are you using when you've used cash rewards?

      • i opened chrome incognito mode simple login into cashreward site, search for ebay and it redirected me to ebay. Then i paste copied ebay item page link, opened it and purchased the item and closed incognito mode. I bought a jecket a month ago but did not get any reward back and now this phone(as other users informed me it takes few days to show up, now i am waiting and will see if it appears or not)

        • you are doing it wrong. you must shop from the redirected eBay page instead of from copied item page.

what I do, I first put the item I want, in my eBay watch list and close the browser. and then re-open the browser and start from cashrewards website.

its just easy to locate the item from watch list, from the redirected page.

but yes, as I said, you must shop from the redirected page, can't paste copied eBay item page

    • Usually takes ages. I've never had a cashrewards claim not show up.

  • What is being sacrificed to add the additional sim card slot? Is there any disadvantage over the Australian stock in terms of features due to the additional sim?

    • disadvantages are custom roms and kernels and warranty ( incase )nothing more than that

  • +2

Beware of the revised term and condition by e-Bay on this code ending TONIGHT 16 October instead of 20 October.
    http://pages2.ebay.com.au/Buyer_coupons/wedding20

This offer commences at 14.00 (AEDT) on 15 October 2015 and ends at 23.59 (AEDT) on 16 October 2015 (“Offer Period”).

    • Thanks mate

  • FYI, silver back in stock.

  • Dammit, I caved and bought a white one. Thanks OP.

  • i ordered one on 15th, its been 4 days but seller did not posted the item. Yesterday i had left a message but seller also did not respond to it. Anyone who bought has he got any update from the seller ?

    • ordered one on the 15th/16th as well.. not a word yet… ebay says it is expected to arrive between 23rd - 28th

    • My Black N920I from T-dimension shipped tonight. Will be here by Friday sometime hopefully :)

Message them on ebay as well. Some people on whirlpool had them arrive shortly after getting the tracking number message on ebay.

      • yap after asking here yesterday i got message from seller on ebay with tracking number, it will take 2 days to be delivered from taiwan to melbourne. Will report back after getting it. Thanks guys

    • I messaged the seller yesterday as i noticed the same as you. The seller didn't reply but then marked as posted shortly after. Now i don't know if they've just marked "posted" to make me happy or if it's actually posted.

      • same happened to me but the tracking number was correct in my case, i think yours is correct as well

  • Has anyone not had their Cashrewards tracking come through yet?

    • I had mine come through fairly quick

    • mine was tracked after 20 hours

  • Not getting any reception - or barely any - staying at 1 bar. Anyone else experiencing this?
