  • Good find

  • good find
along with calandar this is quite good
    just sent my order

  • Great find! :p thanks now i can print my holiday photos

  • Awesome will pick mine up this arvo or maybe after they call me :)

  • yeah saw that email… have to re read and again, and your right, anyone can use it:

    http://www.commbank.com.au/personal/photos-parents.aspx?cid=…

  • Is there an optimal resolution and dpi that we have to (or can) set for the images that are to be processed?

    • +1

300dpi. Make sure the resolution is in 6x4 ratio to avoid cropping

    • -1

Nah, don't worry about the resolution. Just send the highest resolution picture you have (bandwidth permitting) to the processor. They will scale it as necessary. That minimises any loss of quality.

300dpi is a hangover from the first consumer laser printers. It's not relevant for photos. Say my old camera is 5mpx, and takes 2400 by 1800 photos. If I divide 2400 by 6in, I get 400dpi. Oh dear that's over 300dpi. So what, do I try to scale down the photo? Nah, just send it and let them deal with it.

      • Is 300 dpi (or 1800 x 1200) the minimum resolution required? I have some photos taken in or cropped to lower resolution, will they turn out to be fuzzy/grainy?

        • No they will cope with any resolution you send them. Things actually look a bit better in print than on screen because they "smooth" things (you won't see pixels), and also try to autoadjust the picture to look better. But of course they can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, as the proverb goes.

  • Can this be used instore?

  • Hi,

Once I upload, I am not getting any prompt to put the promotional code and also not sure how to select pick up from the Harvey Norman store. Can anyone tell me how they were able to place the order successfully. Thanks for the help.

    • Once you're done uploading your photos, go back to the Main Menu then choose Digital Prints. Select the photos etc then it'll ask about delivery options. It's at checkout that it'll ask for the promo code.

  • How do they know what your order is when you pick up the photos from the store? I didn't get any receipt to print out or anything like that.

    • You put in a name on the order and that is the reference you have in the store you collect from - I used my name to avoid confusion. Talk about an incentive I finally got around to printing some photos that were several years old and may do more once I see the quality.

    • Click My Orders at the top and it will show you order number. Click on the right most "i" under invoice to open up the invoice with your name on it.
You don't need to put your name on the order, it's already there in the generated invoice that you can print and take to the store for photo collection.

  • Thanks mate.

  • Thank you for the post.
    a freebie is always good!

man it took me over 1 hour to upload just 30 photos
    and I have ADSL2 connection.
imaging people with ADSL1 1.5M connection.

I think I will pay and go into the shop next time.

    • really
i uploaded 60 photo's, all 5mb each, and i'm on otus, capped and it took me 30 minutes

  • haha!
    Wow!
Anyone feel bad getting a free calender AND the free prints? or just me!?
I know they are freebies! But Still!

  • when I click on sign up it leads me to a page called service unavaliable. Does this happen to anyone else as well?

  • I get redirected and then a flash (version 10) loads in a little while. after that it is fine but the flash took a while to load for me.

  • Can someone use this coupon code more than once using the same account?

    • No, Only once per account.

  • FYI - Service was unavailable this morning, but it's up and running again now!
Thanks for this post…already ordered mine VERY early this morning. Appreciate this other fab freebie:)

  • 'Ow long till you can go an' pick 'em up?

    • They say around 8-10 working days.

  • good offer, this and the calendar but it sure takes a long time to develop! lol

    well its free, cant argue

  • Awfully long delay for a few pictures printed. Kinda annoying. I will not be using their online service in the future.

  • Has anyone actually gotten their photos yet? Mine have been shipped (uploaded on January 28, shipped February 12), but apparently it takes another 5-7 days to get to your nominated store for pick-up.

    • +2

Picked up mine yesterday. Not really happy with the photos, but I guess can't really complain for a freebie.
For future ref. anybody knows if Matte is better or Glossy ? ,also need to adjust the brightness of pics, most of mine came out too dark, while they look perfect on my screen ..

    • Still have not received mine yet. Uploaded 2 Feb. No news at all. As I have said previously, definitely will not be using this service. Since it takes so long, I might as well get them printed overseas and save money (prob even faster)

  • Surely it doesn't take a month since uploading to get photos uploaded, printed out and shipped to the store. I've been waiting for them to call me, but no dice. I have half a plan to rock up to the Liverpool store tomorrow and ask whether my photos are in yet; I really wanted to stick my food photos in my new photo album first before I stuck my holiday ones in.
Like aggregate, don't think I'll be using the online service again, either. I'm happy with waiting however long they stipulate, but this seems to take forever. Does it take this long if you actually paid for it?

  • still waiting…

  • i got mines already
the thing is they never emailed me that they ahve arrived
i just rocked up one day and it was there lol

  • I have my photos now. =) Rocked up to the Liverpool store, showed the lady my order e-mail on my mobile, explained my situation and after disappearing for a minute, she came back with my photos. She said that they called my mobile, but I never received any call, and I have my mobile on 24/7. shrugs
I think my printer at home prints photos better; more detailed. I wonder if there's any difference between those that are printed from the online store and those that are printed in store.
