4.4.2 Kitkat Update (if you're only supplied with 4.2) - http://www.needrom.com/download/estar-takee-t1s/

As stated in the title. If you're happy with 3G, high end 2.0ghz OCTO CORE, FHD 1080p screen, decent cameras front and rear (13MP & 5MP) + a large amount of internal ROM (32GB) + microsd storage, Android 4.4 (the EB website title is incorrect), plus the expected android LOLLIPOP update from TAKEE before the end of the year, this is a good buy IMO.

Also with the EB points you are given for just signing up, plus confirming your email address, you'll get like another $4 dollars or so off the total, on top of the 10% off code. (Enter your EB points at the checkout)

Use willmyphonework.net (isn't on the website for some reason) or Oztowers or whatever other website will help you out in terms of network frequency coverage. 2G @ 900/1800/1900MHz - 3G @ 900/1900/2100MHz frequencies. (remember TPG are switching to the Vodafone network)

  • Holographic?? really?

    • Yes, really, but like a lot of things, it's cool to have but you certainly don't need it. Seems good for some random fun, or for kids.

  • so by holographic you mean 3d? didnt they die out 3 years ago?

    • with the added device you clip to the phone, and in a dark room you can do a bit of holographic stuff. There are a few demos on the phone.

    • +3

This is correct. It's a 3d screen. It is not technically a "hologram" but it looks 3 dimensional.

It doesn't appear to be a "holographic screen", which uses a video projector. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holographic_screen

"The virtual image is generated by four cameras on the front side which track the user’s eye movements so it can render images differently from different angles." https://estar-takee.com/index.php?id_product=3&controller=pr…

Interestingly, the four cameras are not included with the base model, only with the $850 version. https://estar-takee.com/index.php?id_product=1&controller=pr…

      • Interesting that it is a separate device. Good info.

        • +1

From what I read, in the absence of the four camera module, the single front facing camera will also track the eye movements. But apparently, not as well.

I read on XDA that it won't play 3d videos from YouTube. But it has a Side by side player, which can play a certain format of 3d videos.

  • The "standard Android USB cable" looked a little non-standard at one end there, so the charger itself will only be useful with that cable.

  • +4

Clearly witchcraft. If you look at the photos you'll see that they have trapped animals, children and even a cube inside the phone.

    Buy at own risk.

    3D porn here we come…

  • Is that clip-on device included or sole separately?

    • Separate by the looks of it. The hologram device seems to be worth multiples of the cost of the base phone itself.

any one heard of DealsMachine, as they have it for 152.14, never seen them before myself

    • This must have been posted in the last several hours. I'd been looking at this phone since last night all over the net. Good find!

    • Received a faulty phone from them. Long story short they don't give a rats arse once they have your money.

      • You didn't pay via paypal or CC? Many options to get your money back there.

        • +1

They gave me the run around for about a month until I lost my patience and raise a paypal dispute. I was ignorant to give them the benefit of the doubt.

BTW: Dealsmachine and Everbuying are the same company.

      • So basically it's better / negligible to go with the Dealsmachine price?

  • Better specced phone from more reputable manufacturer for few bucks extra:

Just in case you want the holographic function, you can turn any phone into holographic phone for free:

    • 250 AUD vs 179 AUD?

Glennh70 found it available for 152.

  • this Takee 1 unlike the HTC EVO and LG 3D models of the same era, can play HSBS & HOU 3D 180p files perfectly. Doesn't have the camera tho. Phone is not the impressive part of this device & has no 4G & theres heaps of krapware.

It may say here & there that an Android update is coming later this year, but I'd be weary as you may loose some of the unique features.
