      Hi viki8702,

Please note there is no comparison between Kingston (450MB/s) & SanDisk (550MB/s) SSD.
Kingston is definitely at the low end of the market.

      Regards
      Francesca

What about the Samsung 850 EVO?

      • +4

        Isn't 450MB/s vs. 550MB/s a fair comparison? :-P

      • Those Kingston V300s are often much worse than that. Kingston substituted the components and the performance of those batches is now under 200MB/sec. Really, really bad.. and the ones on the market are usually the bad ones.

        • Ah crap! I just bought the Kingston. Where's the undo button?

        • @Popo:

Just to make you feel even worse about the kingston

          http://www.anandtech.com/show/7763/an-update-to-kingston-ssd…

          :)

        • @donnot: Thanks for that. Now I'm really going to cancel my order and never buy Kingston again.

        • @Popo:

Some of their other SSDs are good-the V300 is the only model where they did the 'switcheroo' of NAND. Not trying to ruin kingston's overall good reputation.

        • @donnot: They've tainted their brand in my books. Can't trust them anymore. Surprisingly (or maybe not) I seem to trust ole anandtech more than vendor claims.

Is this included in the voucher deal? It isn't listed on the "included listings" page here

      $100 voucher thanks I'm in.

      • You only get a $100 voucher of you spend at least $200.

      • I think the person you're replying to was correcting the post, which said 100$, but was supposed to say 50$ and does now.

Please find and EVO at the $127(shoppingsquare) or lower price please……

  • How does it compare with a Samsung Pro 850?

    edit:answered

  • How does this compare with the EVO 850?

I'm in no rush for this so I'll wait and hopefully one pops up for around this price in the next few days, maybe with some likes we can convince the rep? :)

  • Grabbed a couple SSDs, Thanks TA!

  • SA people doesn't like it

    • +1

  • Got one, picking up at my local Woolies. Winning!

  • I want to buy a laptop with wifi and a DVD/RW… What is the most common/better size SSD? (So I can make sure it accepts that size.)

    • +1

most likely it will be 2.5 which is what this SSD size is, but you need to double check as it might have m.2 wich a few of the new ultrabooks seem to be .
Im very new to all of this. but been doing a bit of research lately, and this is what my research has shown me.

  • Before i pull the trigger and buy one, i was hoping for some advice from the ozbargain community

I will be putting this into an older Acer timeline 5830 laptop, and was wondering how i go about swapping HDD?
Currently using windows 10. (Upgraded from windows 7) and got no idea what i use to partition and clone the hard drive!!!
Could someone pease tell me what to use.

Do i neeed to buy a SSD usb adapter???

Secondly would this SSD be on par with the samsung Evo 850 in relation to speed and reliability?

Appreciate any help i can get!!

    • +1

This sandisk is pretty much the bottom of the market
and the 850 towards the top.
im waiting for a deal for the 250gb 850 evo.

    • +4

You do realise they're different models to this?

      • +1

        Obviously not.

Crappy confusing model numbers and names. Good thing your around.

  • Thanks for posting.
I'm in ACT and could only collect from BIGW, and no mention of any voucher. I think i did everything right (logged in through my eBay account and paid with paypal, etc.)?

  • This or the Crucial!
    Such a crucial decision!

  • Which SSD to get? Crucial BX100 or Sandisk Ultra II?!?!

    • ultra2

      • Why? Crucial is told to be faster.

  • Ahh so not sure about their pricing. I know the Razer Destructor 2 Hard Gaming Mouse Pad is at MSY for $36, but on this PC Byte site its selling for $90… big price difference if you ask me.

  • samsung 850 evo

    • this or the 850 EVO?

      • evo has this year technology,
        i read it with delight
until i can afford the 250gb
        and installation costs.
        EVO 850.

  • Selected the click and collect at my local woollies store. Checked the Aust. post for tracking which says its awaiting collection from the post office.
