  • CELOVESU12 for 12% off - better if ordering something over $300

shipping for small items (shoes) Shipping FeeAUD $14.90

  • Just bought a cheap road bike to try get to work (25km each way.. training up to that distance as I can't do it yet). Any recommendations on lights, locks, storage/baggage, emergency tools, possibly even mudguards (well in advance of winter I know.. last resort) to make use of this voucher?

Separate query - any good phone mount systems? Picked myself up an indoor trainer and a speed/cadence sensor to connect to my smartphone. But don't yet have a way of mounting the phone to the bike.

    • Mandatory:

      1. High vis vest at all times.

      2. Flashing led lights on helmet front and back and bike.

      3. You can also buy flashing led vests for about $20.

Top to toe black low visibility riders become victims of Darwinian Cyclection :-)

      Enjoy!

    • Have you got a laptop or can you set up your trainer near your pc? It's much better for indoors than your phone. You can get live graphs, power estimates, heart rate, estimated speed and cadence all on a bigger screen. You can also try out zwift (free as it's in beta but going paid very soon) for virtual training

    • You should consider getting a bike light from a shop like deal extreme. They are a lot cheaper and I have never had a problem with mine. My dad has also had 2 of them over about 10 years without much of an issue (dead battery on the first one after around 5 years).

      • Except for the ones that interfere with your wireless speed/cadence sensors, because they haven't been through any RF testing or certification…
Or the ones that turn up with totally different mounts than were specified in the photo, and don't actually fit onto your handlebars correctly…

    • I use Quadlock, have used it for a few years. Cheaper on eBay than the actual store obviously!

Solid mount in my opinion, pricey but well made.

    • I found this post and the comments helpful: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/108672. The Vulcan Supreme 2000 lock has good reviews and is much cheaper than Kryptonite. If you live in SA, the Motor Accident Commission will give you a high vis bag cover and high vis arm/leg bands if you contact them

  • Horrible business to deal with for warranty issues.

  • Items that aren't marked as clearance on their page show up as clearance in the checkout :(

Also, $30 discount doesn't include shipping.

  • Is there a minimum spend?

    • no

      • Unfortunately there does seem to be a minimum spend: "This code has a minimum spend of AUD $150.00. Please check the contents of your basket and try again."

        • It didn't when I tried. I put a $26 light in, and it discounted it to $0, then postage was $14.95.

  • Doesn't seem to work. I order a full price item too (http://www.cyclingexpress.com/en/productdia/6789685/ruderber…)

    Lame

    • Because it has free shipping.

  • Seems to only work on cart over $150?

    • Agree

  • -1

Its hard to deal with Cycling Express. Things I've experienced:

    • the price match doesn't apply if there is any kind of offer, which means they are often more expensive than elsewhere. Try finding this disclaimer on their web site

    • they used to have a "better than" offer ie beat any one's else's price. When I tried to use this they promptly reduced the priced of the item to match elsewhere, and then said well its now the same price so the "better than" no longer applies

    Sigh. Avoid

    • I used it to buy clipless pedal. It was the cheapest out of all the online store and the item arrived in about 5 days. I will not avoid.
