Hi all,

We're currently offering 50% off our Organic Premium Matcha 10G Sample Pack. If you've ever wanted to try a Premium Organic Matcha without paying the premium price-tag then please read on;

Grown in the lush agricultural region of Nishio, this tea is made from the finest leaf you'll find anywhere in Japan - we discovered it after spending months travelling and tasting all over the country.

On first pour, you'll notice its stunning, bright green colour. And then there's that initial sip, delivering a perfectly balanced flavour, touched with a natural sweetness and followed through with a satisfying finish. Forget the bitter aftertaste that often comes with cheaper, inferior green teas.

hellogreentea Organic Premium Matcha is grown without any nasties whatsoever, to meet the stringent standards set by Japan's Organic Agricultural authority. Every leaf is hand-picked, then stone-ground with granite, whereby it is transformed into a fine powder.

If you're not familiar with the benefits of drinking matcha green tea, you can find 9 of our favorite benefits on our site. They include; Naturally increases energy and endurance, Boosts metabolism and burns calories, Improves focus and memory.

Lastly, if you're new to matcha and you don't have a matcha whisk (Chasen) you can pick up a milk-frother at Ikea for just $2.99 - This will give you a similar effect to using the whisk.

  • Great deal, only $897.00/KG.

    • +1

If drinking 1 matcha a day, 1kg would give you a 2.73 year supply. Good quality matcha is all about fresh ingredients so I would recommend sticking to a smaller quantity :) 10g is a great starting point.

      • Thanks. Have you sold out yet?

        • The promotion is tracking very well with over 20% of stock on hand purchased, paid and shipped within two days - still a good amount left for premium green tea appreciators to purchase by 31/10/15. Thanks for asking, malouphix.

$897/kg? As tempting as that is its still abit matcha

      • Ba-dum-Tss! +1 :)

Still seems a little expensive for Matcha? …but bought some anyway to try! Price was $13.69 with discount..

Bought some 'Ceremonial grade' Matcha recently from a health food store for $20 (150g). Seems crazy cheap compared to this, but then again, it doesn't taste great.

Hi Rory, thanks for your purchase. Hopefully once you try our matcha you will taste the difference between a Japanese organic matcha and what was probably a Chinese matcha (perhaps cooking grade).

Cooking grade matcha can be perfect for making cakes etc however it's usually not up to the traditional standards of 'tea ceramony' matcha.

Looking forward to your feedback :)

"Product of China"- Yeah, I think you're right, probably cooking grade… definitely doesn't taste like the Green Tea latte's I buy!

        • +1

Still great for cooking at that price!

Green tea latte's are one of our favourites too. It must be the sugar in them!

This matcha has a naturally sweet flavour but it's not like sugar. You should get a fresh green tea taste like if you were to have a green tea bag without the sugar.

Just packing your order now. Thanks :)

  • "Forget the bitter aftertaste that often comes with cheaper, inferior green teas."
Not true! I drink mainly green tea of all sorts, they have different aroma, colours, strength or sweetness, but they all have the bitter taste, variable but always. It's like beers, not bitter - it's not a beer!

Further more, green tea in powder? Only the inferior ones to my knowledge, all the higher grade green teas are judged by the leaves and the rest! At least that's what I know from reading all the descriptions & critics.

    • Hi James,

It's a bit different to normal green tea. Matcha has been shown to enhance the ability to relax and be calm.

Matcha Green Tea Powder has been used by Japan's zen buddhist monks for hundreds of years. The tea's L-Theanine promotes alpha waves in the brain, aiding relaxation, but encouraging alertness. So, its great for meditators.

Sorry 18 bucks for a sample, are you crazy?

    • +1

Hi, a sample is equivalent to 10 cups of matcha tea. $1.80 per cup for a premium matcha green tea is pretty reasonable.

Hiya, will order and try this out. About to travel to Japan, are there any regions or brands you'd recommend while we are there?

      Hi piggyfund,

Thanks, we're glad to have you as a customer but jealous of your upcoming trip ;)

I would highly recommend both the Nisho and Kyoto prefectures for stunning scenery and the best quality matcha tea. There are many tea farms and also restaurants/cafes serving fresh matcha from the region.

Thanks for the info. Only going to Tokyo this trip but may be back again in 6 months and will go over to Osaka. I lived in Japan for a long time and to think I only ever had matcha lattes at Starbucks. Yikes! Did partake in tea ceremonies but found a lot of matcha in general to be very bitter. Will hunt down some good lattes and supplies this time around and other times can order from y'all.

        • Toyko is an amazing place isn't it!

The perfect temperature for matcha is about 80 degrees. Sometimes higher temperatures can cause the tea to burn and give it a bitter after taste. Maybe that's what it was.

Best of luck for your trip and yes please do let us know when you need some more :)
