Looks like an a pretty good deal with the tablet.
But without it, what the hell are they thinking. $300 for 13 months for some news articles? Hahahaha

    • Im not sure if the digital edition gives you SuperCoach Gold access too? though you can get that independent of this deal for $20

  • If you like News Ltd papers, this looks like a decent deal. If not…
Some years ago, the editor of the NY Times said that if the paper charged the same as it always did for a home delivered subscription and the reader opted for the online version only, they could give all their subscribers a new iPad every year and still make a much bigger profit than printing and delivering all those papers. And an iPad costs a lot more than a Samsung Galaxy Tab.
Interesting to see that you have to agree to an automatic renewal, and there are no details on how to cancel. There is always some degree of people forgetting to cancel their subs and being charged for a minimum period before they jump ship.

    • I reckon that's where they are making their money. I simply setup a cancellation appointment in my calendar every-time i a free digital subscription is due for renewal.

    • Interesting to see that you have to agree to an automatic renewal, and there are no details on how to cancel.

There are details on how to cancel:

How do I cancel my subscription or membership?

To cancel your membership or subscription, please call Customer Support on 1300 MY NEWS (1300 696 397), Monday to Friday 7:30am to 6:00pm and Saturday 7:30am to 11:30am (AEST). Your digital access will be cancelled within 5 business days of you notifying us, but home delivery may continue for up to a further 5 business days.

      • My mistake, TY

    Neg this deal?

  • Also available for The Advertiser. Or as they stylize it, The Advertiser+.

They are claiming this deal has an $856 value.

The "13 Month Weekend Delivery + Unrestricted Digital Access" deal is $498, which is basically as above but adds weekend paper delivery to the offer.

Note that it's $7/week after the 13 months of the offer.

  • So they pass onto JB to fulfill this deal, for a tablet that costs $278?

  • $239 for Herald Sun including the tablet via this link
