  • Can you advise which suburbs are covered? Clicking on the Vic Metro link on the page only shows NSW Metro areas…

    • Hi,

At the top of the page you can put in the post code you want to send the roses to and the site will let you know. Alternatively you can tell me the post code and i will let you know if we deliver there.

I'm not trying to neg the deal, but I could never see the point of cut flowers as a present. You have to keep changing the water and determining when you remove flowers that are too dead to keep. I would much prefer something more permanent as a present. Then again I am in IT and I've been told, on a number of occasions, I'm not like regular women.

ill send you a box of hardrives you can install in rackmounts then - will that make you happier?

Can you please add me to that list?

      • make sure they are protected… wouldn't want to catch a virus now ;)

      • I would much prefer a box of hard drives to a box of roses. (Although one HD with a big capacity would be better). I'm a technology whore - my latest acquisition is my iPad Mini 4; I'm one very happy lady.

I very rarely buy my wife flowers for this exact reason, in my eyes they are a thoughtless, overpriced, and worst of all temporary gift.

When I give someone a gift I like to put some thought in to things that appeal to the so that the gift is more personal, flowers are a lazy way of saying 'I spent money on you….. Here is a part of a bush that will decay in about a week and are purely ornamental'.

i dont ever think of them as a "gift" more like a nice suprise

    • Totally agree. I have never bought my partner flowers as for that reason. I also work in IT lol

Just because you valued them at 79.95 and now drop them to 60 does not make this a bargain.

Someone killed the romance in this thread! ;)

I buy a bunch of 10 roses here in Brisbane for $20 at the outside market and I can deliver by myself. Thanks!

  • Ouch, OP met the harsh reality that is OzBargain.

  • This is the 3rd time you've posted this same offer this month.

I remember working in one of these places to package the roses. We essentially buy cheap ass roses (<50c each) from Kenya or eastern Europe which are all pre-packed badly in cardboard. It looks like something you could sell to the public already but in really bad shape. We then take off all the thorns and dead petals and make it look 5-10x what it's worth. These places charge such high amounts with massive margins.

I'm confused. 14 days ago this was voted +5 here, but today it's -1.Have people's opinions of the worth of roses changed s much in two weeks?

  • All the husbands that had told there wife about OzB are now being pressured to buy up on this deal so its being negged? :P

    • I used to have Rose bushes in the garden of my first house. Lovely bushes with wonderful flowers and even better for being something I passed on the way to my front door. For some reason rose bushes in people's gardens have fallen out of favour; which I think is a shame.
