    How is it compare to PSRF50 $129.99 at http://www.toysrus.com.au/yamaha-portable-keyboard_10486288/ ???

    • PSRF50. No touch response. No finger guide display. No lighted up keys. No USB. No build in lessons. 30 songs VS 100 songs. etc.

    Hoping it is good enough for adult beginner to use. Can anyone please tell me where and if it is easy to buy the adaptor as Kogan website says it is optional but honestly who doesn't think it should not come with it.

    • +1

      Another Yamaha model I bought (not from Kogan) also said the adapter was optional but it was actually included in the box. I ended up having 2 power adapters

    Just had a chat with Kogan. "It does not come with the adaptor." was what Jan B the consultant told me

    • what is the adaptor you're talking about?

      • +1

        He's referring to the AC adapter

          thanks =)

          @191919: No worries :)

    You need to really read Kogan's warranty policy extremely carefully.

    It took me 5 months to force them to do what they promise in their warranty statement. >> They say one thing and mean another. <<

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/207477

    Where a warranty is provided by the manufacturer of the item, We will provide the contact information of the manufacturer and assist in resolution of the claim. Only when forced to !!!

    Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Try telling Kogan that !!!!

    • Never bought from Kogan before, now you make me worry :(

          Hey nosdan - we gave the customer the highest level of assistance possible with the limited cooperation received from the customer.
          We aim to be the best online retailer, especially when things go wrong. Fortunately, this customer's previous behaviour is only 0.01% of all our customers!

          @Kogan: well coming on OzB, a huge public forum, to be a massive dong was probably a really stupid move to make. if you were a retail store it would be the equivalent as running out into the mall and yelling abuse at a customer so everyone could hear you. not the wisest of business strategies.

          tho the fact you did this after what seems like a legit claim here takes your stupidity to the next level of stupid.

      Saw JB Hi-Fi's ad and wanted one for myself. Did some research and bought EZ-220. Received it today.

      So here are the differences

      Positive

      Casio LK-120:
      local warranty, cheaper, with adaptor

      Yamaha EZ-220:
      Touch response: which means the harder you press, the louder it will sound

      USB: Can connect it to computer, use a printer cable, not included in the box. I read Synthesia's page first, which recommended it as "Best choice for beginners" . Review from Amazon "I also connected the keyboard to my laptop via a USB cable that wasn't provided. No more need for an extra $30 USB to MIDI converter to use Synthesia. Everything works after configuring the keyboard in the Synthesia software. The keys light up with the notes and the music comes through the keyboard speakers/headphone jack."

      Lessons: can display left hand or right hand or both hand, compare with the LK-120's picutre, which only shows one hand (correct me if I am wrong)

      There are difference in other features, however, I think these are the reasons I choose EZ-220 instead of LK-120.

      • Thx. I already have Casio, but I'd add $70 and get Yamaha if I was buying now.

  • Does it comes with a stand? My concern is if I can find a chair/bench from Yamaha to suit the height?

    • Received it today. No stand in the box. So measure your chair/bench and compare it with the keyboard then.

    Two sides to a coin, WiseUp comments how bad Kogan is on every single post about deals from the Kogan site… Sure people can have bad experiences, heck I don't even like Kogan, but no need to turn this into another whirlpool/product review site.

    • and fwiw im glad WiseUp has done that so its been bought to my attention (which it wouldnt have if he only posted it once) and saved me and countless others from risking the same bullshit from kogan. this is one of the things i like about OzB its a great place to find bargains but also a great place to find out how not to get ripped off caus a bargain is not a bargain if in the end you end up ripped off….

  • I purchased this a while ago about the same price. Cheapest I saw it was about $159 from Kogan with free delivery, should have pulled the trigger then.

    It's a pretty good keyboard for learning, quite loud speakers. Wish the ac adapter was more readily available.

    I use this with Synthesia to play midi songs.
