    Just to clarify - if I purchase one of your Synology bundles, then will I still be eligible for the Seagate cashback offer?

    And is it possible to bundle with 3TB or 4TB hard drives instead?

    Thanks for any help.

    (I need to go and do a bit of research on the difference between the DS216se and DS216play units now.)

      I recommend going to the seagate promo website to make sure, but my understanding is that as long as you buy at least 2 seagate NAS drives you will be eligible.

      Yes. As long as the Seagate HDD is on the list, you can claim the cash back from Seagate. We will provide Part number & Serial numbers in the invoice :)

      You could purchase the 3TB or 4TB in the same cart, then we will install the HDDs before we ship it out. (They are eligible for cash back as well)

        A general question for all - how do the Seagate NAS HDDs compare to the WD Reds? The latter seems to be more popular amongst Ozbargainers, is there a technical reason for that? Or are they much the same?

        Would appreciate any insight.

          They are basically the same.

          However, Seagate NAS HDD has 5 years warranty now compare to WD Red only has 3 years warranty.

    Can anyone guide me,

    I run a digital folder/file cabinet on my Surface Pro 2 at my work and runs fast. When I search for invoices and use the search bar in windows explorer, the invoice I search for comes up instantly. Is it because of Windows indexing? I also use the Surface as shared network for other desktops to search for invoices,quotes and photos.

    I cannot do this with an external SSD running on USB mode. It takes so long to search anything..

    Can the Synology Diskstation provide similar function? Or no, I need a windows operating system to get the indexing.

    The Surface Pro was just a 1 year successful trial and I need to offload it to a NAS or similar EG: Intel NUC

        Sorry I confused,

        I rely on Windows explorer to find PDF invoices/Quotations and Photos. I use the search bar which finds them straight away.

        Lets say I search in the invoice folder for Momentum $560. The PDF invoice shows up instantly under search.

        When I tried to search on my external SSD connected via USB 3.0. It takes so long to find the same PDF invoice. I assume it's because it's not indexed/cached.
