SanDisk Ultra Fit 32GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive $14.89 Delivered @ Shopping Square (eBay)

910

The ever popular low profile Sandisk USB stick - I was waiting for a deal on these, saw this one that was expired, but then saw that mmd had posted a link to Shopping Square, which had them at in stock a better price (so credit to him!)

Thought I'd post it up here for others (like myself!) who might have missed it otherwise. Picked up a couple myself!

Be aware that these do get hot in use, due to their tiny size - they're probably not the best if you're looking for something as a permanently plugged in storage stick, but they're great to carry around. I'm personally going to be using one in my missus' car - they're great as they don't stick too far out of the USB port, so they sit nice and flush.

Also you can get 3% cashback at CashRewards etc if that's your thing!

I have a USB 2 version of these that I use in my cars head unit. Works fine.

I'm thinking it'll be fine - it's only really ongoing permanent use (I.e. In a permanently powered microserver) that I've heard of major issues.

    • It could cause a fire!!

I actually asked my missus the other day if she wants one, she said she doesn't like tiny sticks.

the why is she still putting up with you ?

Some women don't want to turn their paper cut into a gash from guys with large sticks.

I asked my tiny stick if it wanted a missus… log dumped!

It's not the size it's where you put it.
      I mean a USB 2 or USB 3 port!

      • +1

Shame it's not USB Type-C, then you could put it in anyway you wanted…

      • The AC power socket will be fine.

Tell her she gets what she's given, it's way better than a floppy…

Very good price, including shipping. I picked up a couple from Hardly Normal a month or so ago at $15 each (thanks ozb) have been very happy

  • I use it permanently in my Toyota People Mover since a year , never had any problems

    • Why disguise your car's model by calling it such a generic name…

  • Nice i'm going to use this in my wii u.

    • Dunno if I'd risk it personally for a lower feedback seller whos account location in USA, Shopping Square is a known reputable company that I've never had any issues with…

      Each their own though!

Yes, well spotted. I was going to link that seller, but the feedback score (95%) was off-putting.

I actually bought the same stick a few months ago from PC byte who are 6 cents 1 cent more expensive.
Happy to give them a bit more since they have top notch customer service, and fast delivery. (I could have sworn they were selling it for 14.95, but selling history suggest the current price of $14.90)

  • When I read a few moons ago that these things get hot I didn't believe it until I got mine… People on forums are complainng that these have buggered up their machines… Can understand why. One of the laptops in use it in has fan going all the time on idle because USB port is near CPU… Will chase Sandisk/Amazon down over next day or two to return… Heat output is insane…

    • It caused many plane crash.

  • I was thinking of getting one of these for my Mac book, as a plug in and forget about it for the extra storage. But I'm reading the verdict as that not being a good idea, instead it's better to keep and plug in only when needed?

    • If you've got one of those MacBook's with the half size SD card slot, you can get cheap half SD to Micro SD adapters for a couple of bucks on eBay that sit flush with the body of the MacBook. That would let you use a cheap microsd to add storage.

But you're right… would not use one of these for permanently attached storage.

      • Thanks for the idea, I'll need to go home and have aa look :)

  • Bought a SanDisk 32GB USB from Shopping Square on 4/11/2015 and it still HAS NOT been delivered. NOT TO BE TRUSTED ! Go with more trusted suppliers like PC Byte or MSY instead (www.productreview.com.au/p/shopping-square.html). I WILL NEVER SHOP WITH THEM AGAIN.

    • That's strange, I bought 2 and had no problems, and have bought at least 10 other SD Cards/USB sticks from them before with no problems. They're generally considered to be one of the most trustworthy stores on here.

      Have you contacted them/their rep?

  • Yes, contacted both their sales team and danilochan three times but still no response.
