Can't recommend these enough! Perfect for couch use with a HTPC. Both the keyboard and touchpad work with my Samsung smart TV too.

    • I find they are an excellent keyboard for Raspberry Pi.

    • Just what I was going to ask.

      • As long as you don't need "Ctrl-F4", all the F1-12 need to use Fn key.

  • +1

Second the recommendation on these keyboards. Great for HTPC/ Samsung TV.

  • Echo comments abt this being a great keyboard. Glad I bought mine when they were $19 from Auspost and then price matched at OW.

  • dammit, I was at highpoint 2 hrs ago and would've been able to swing around to OW to get one :(

  • +1

That's a great price. As mentioned, these are perfect for living room /HTPC setups.

One minor annoyance is that the touchpad could be a lot better. It feels OK but definitely not anywhere near the experience of Apple or more modern ultrabook touchpads.

Still, $25 is definitely a bargain.

    • +1

Completely agree. Excellent Keyboard+Touchpad combo but on mine the touchpad can be inconsistent at times. As stated numerous times, definitely worth the $25.

    • I've got one - a plus for me is the extra "left-click" button up the top-left corner.

You can hold the Left+Right edges of the keyboard with your palms and left-click (via the extra top-left button) using your left thumb, while controlling the cursor (via trackpad) using your right thumb. Kinda like holding a huge game console controller.

This may sound weird if you haven't done it, but it's actually more natural/comfortable (for me) in a couch situation than most other setups.

      • Always wondered what that was for. I just tap the touchpad though for left click.

Has this been spotted anywhere else?

  • OP. Can you upload a receipt so i can go to my local officeworks and try a pricematch?

    • @thehulk1969, sorry, I didn't buy it. I got one 2 years ago from Harvey Norman

Keep up the good work Son…You didn't purchase but still thought of us all…

    • Won't that deal picture help?

      • i'll show them this link

FYI, there's a new K400 Plus (same RRP). they've made the arrow keys smaller and the right-shift fullsize, and they've moved the three shortcut buttons above the trackpad and made them volume control. otherwise, basically the same.

the right-shift size/placement on the K400/K400R really does suck! BUT i'm happy to sacrifice the shift key for the bigger arrow keys (i REALLY hate those small style arrow keys like on the K400 Plus, especially for HTPC use!).

if you plan on doing touch typing on this thing, you might prefer the K400 Plus with the right-shift key, but otherwise, this is a great HTPC keyboard! i have two of them!

Would be great if it was BT instead of RF.. :(

  • Necessary kit, great price second only to K830 imo

  • Got one for 2 years and now the touchpad will stop responding randomly.

    • It stops responding to the slightest amount of moisture, iirc.

      • Or low
        Battery

        • I'm sure that's never an issue for ozbargainers and their collections of LSD batteries.

      • Like many laptop touchpads.

  • Good price for good product, I brought for about $20 a year ago. It also works for my Samsung smart TV.

  • Says 39 at Sydney CBD

Sorry guys this is a store exclusive price, As some store may want to clear these out for space as it's going to be discontinued stock, all the other stores have it for $39, unless stated.

You could try your luck depending on management but most will not.

    • Thanks for letting us know. Pretty sure Officeworks isn't a franchise, so not sure why these offers aren't in every store (and online at the same price as in store). Also interesting that they don't pricematch (without the 5%) their own stores.

      • They do have managers specials which I have noticed a few times.

  • +1

Check out the price at Harvey Norman. The price is so hot that there's a limit of one per customer http://www.harveynorman.com.au/logitech-k400r-wireless-touch…

    • what a joke, selling for $67 and limit 1 per customer.

      • hardly normal strikes again

        • +1

Haven't quite grasped online selling yet have they…

      • What?! One per customer?!!! [shakes fist at Broden]

Not cool, just went there (same store) and they jacked up the price back to $39.

OP can you mark it as expired please?

  • Manager must have had his a$$ kicked and told to remove it due to Ozbargainers hitting other stores up for a price match.

  • this keyboard is great for when you are only able to use 1 hand.
you know for those times your other hand is broken.
    usually your main hand.

    • +1

You been when your other hand is preoccupied with something else lol.

      • Nah mate, im right handed and i break it all the time.
I have become quite skilled at using my mouse with left hand!

  • I got it for $25
As price match and also as a clearance. Both on the same receipt

Can someone explain the difference between these two?
Seems like you spend an extra $9 and don't get a mouse….

  • $35 at MSY (Sydney Ultimo)

    DONT GET ONE!
I bought one of these for $14 from DSE and returned next day after, they don't have keyboard stand and the shift/enter keys are tiny as ….so annoying to type on

    • Yeah, I for one don't believe you got this for $14. Shift and enter keys on mine are fine

    • +1

keyboard stand? (i assume you mean legs)

uh, i think you bought the wrong sort of keyboard dude…

(to be fair, you are right that the right-shift key is crap on this, as i mentioned in my comment above…but how many people are touch typing on an HTPC/media keyboard?)

    • +1

      Clearly not using it properly.
Mainly for when you have a broken main hand and only having ur other hand available.

  • Works with Remix mini out of the box, for anyone else who has one.
Just got one at my local OW for $39 as I couldnt wait to try my Remix out. Guy at OW has one and loved it for his media pc.

There is a bug on these keyboards. You can't properly disable tap-to-click. The short hack is … When you switch the keyboard on, hold down the blue function key and press the left mouse button.

FYI - there are quite a few comments on the bug, in case you're not aware of it. I also tweaked the Logitech settings to show the option to disable tap-to-click, but as soon as the keyboard is turned off and back on, tap-to-click is re-enabled. This bug has been around for at least 2 1/2 years.

    • This is really a pain in the arse. Thanks for telling.

    • I don't have this issue with mine. Is it only some systems it happens on?

  • anyone tried those Rii Mini keyboard ? http://www.riitek.com/goods/39.htm

    • Yep. Some are a hit or miss and there are a lot under different brands. Rii Mini i12 would be about the same size as the K400 while the rest are smaller.
