  • am trying to cancel my existing subscription right now (weekends only for $16 a month!), and then sign up to this one - 2 extra days for a lot less $$!

EDIT - just called to cancel, but i'm paid up until the end of feb so have to wait until then! this offer expires 31 march, so hopefully can still sign up in march…

  • I get an error when registering for booklover account

    • Me too, can't create an account

  • looks like a great deal. I got an error when trying to join as well. I emailed them to find out what to do. Looking forward to getting it though

  • Given that you dont need any account details when signing up with the age I highly doubt that they will be matching it with any other system.

    Thanks for the post

  • how about SMH?
    i am in sydney
    very good deal though

  • If I live in an apartment, does that mean they'll have call me every morning through the intercom or will they just leave it at the front of the building?

    • +1

For a delivery cost of $1 a week I'll let you have one free guess as to what they'll do.

      • They will put it on you kitchen table?

can I buy a vowel?, on topic though not a bad deal, however I am looking into a school offer which should be cheaper.

  • awesome deal…but errors here too when registering for the booklover account. 23+ves, anyone had any luck?

    • Nahh…I get "A problem occured whilst attempting to update your details. If this problem persists, please let us know via one of the contact methods located on the 'Contact Us' page."

but there's no link to the contacts page; what kind of people make these sites; haven't they heard of "click here to contact us" ? Not surprised it doesn't work.

    • Dymocks online registration doesn't work. Either they have pulled it due to the hits or they are busy reading "How to build a better website asap" ;-)

  • anyone knows how to register booklover, coz it constantly pop up with error,

  • Do you think they will random check whether the applicant is a current booklover? I have a booklover card but it has expired. I just subscribed anyway.

    • I don't Booklover cards have an expiry date (only the rewards); you should be fine.

  • Me too. Can't register with booklover.

i will post again when I get more info

EDIT- Recieved this email, hopefully will be working soon

"Thank you for your email. We are currently experiencing technical difficulty and in the process of rectifying the issues. As soon as these issues have been resolved, we will be able to assist you in your enquiry.

  • Hi

I get The Age - four days a week - Friday to Monday (a bit different to this one) for $49 for a year. I have been on this deal for almost two years now. The catch need to be a YMCA Gym member.

Although I would prefer this deal, as I prefer the Thu paper (has the green guide) to the Mon paper. To take up this offer I my wife had to call them and provide her YMCA membership number, although the newspaper subscription is still in my name.

  • I googled around and noticed that Palace Cinemas Movie Club card holders were previously offered this deal for $49 last year. Anyone know if this deal is still available using the Palace Cinemas card?

    • When I renewed a few months back, I was offered the Palace Cinema member offer. I didn't have that so I had to go the round about way of gettting the subscription on my wife's YMCA membership details.

  • So any updates when booklovers will start working again? Can we just order from the age and retroactively become booklovers?

    • still having the error coming up. The way i read it is that they MAY check if you are a member of the booklovers. I think I will just order the deal and sign up afterwards

  • dymocks booklovers sign-up just worked for me - didn't work yesterday.

  • worked for me also

  • Works now, they've fixed it

They don't check membership details at the time of signup but may later so may as well join free.
      ie,
*Terms and conditions apply. The Age reserves the right to verify Dymocks Booklover status. Subscription will be invalid if the applicant is proven not to be a current Dymocks Booklover and with pro-rata refund of any payment processed less an administrative fee of $10. Dymocks Booklovers with a current Age subscription are ineligible for this offer…

      • Thank u

  • Ok I just signed up for this Age subscription.

Had trouble signing up for a Dymocks Booklover, site was giving me an error, so I've dropped them an email.

Hopefully that wont hold up my Age sub :)
