  stopover in Sydney, yet same flight SYD to HNL is $1035.

  cheaper to fly Tiger (or anyone for that matter) to Brisbane then get this flight with stopover back in Sydney en route to Honolulu !!
  Jump off at Sydney on flight back (assuming no checked bags or they can remove bags at Sydney).

    try living in the states, this is a hell problem..

    flight lax to boston $250 stop in dallas.
    dallas to boston $650

    its all to do with hub cities…. yes i have flown from kl to singapore just to fly the hell back the same day stay the night and then get flight from kl to somewhere next day…saved $400, total pain in ass tho

  There are beautiful beaches within hours of Brisbane. I don't get why Aussies go to Hawaii…

    The islands themselves are far better than the beaches. Gold coast has nice beaches and concrete jungles, Hawaii has average beaches and beautiful islands (once you get out of waikiki).

  I'd be interested to know what value others place on direct flights over indirect, one stop flights. I know when I book if the indirect is less than 20% less than the direct (that sounds a bit Irish, I mean 18% or 16% or lower) I'll usually pass, and I never consider two or more stops. Comes up a lot in the USA where there are usually many ways of getting from A to B, typically one or two direct and a dozen or more indirect….occasionally with even three stops .. :-( .. !! (Yeah, I know, put it in forums, I've saved you the trouble!!)
