Must've been typing it as you commented buddy. Hope the sale helps ya out!

What is 'fashion clothing' described as?
    Tops, shorts, socks, undies?

    • +7

everything except Bonds' underwear I suppose!

  • -1

Everything excluded… Bad call BIG Wigs

    • +3

I think it's a pretty decent deal. Gonna pick up a game or two for someone's easy Christmas gift.

    • +1

Err not really. The gift cards and lay-bys they wised up to early on and excluded all of those. Apple is usually excluded from many sales. Apologies if you wanted some Bonds underwear though, not sure on that one.

  • +3

Am I considered family or friend of Big W?

    • +40

Who cares, you're a friend of mine bud!

      • +4

        Thanks!

        • +4

          I like ya too mate.

        • +2

@onetwothree: Daddy Pig! Good memories back in the day I used to watch.

        • +3

@gamechanger: if you used to watch peppa pig when you were a kid then I'm probably old enough to be your daddy pig!

Ozbargainers look out for each other

      • +2

Can we be more than friends?

        • it looks like you're from QLD , we'll have to keep this as just friends for now :(

  • Now, if the deal was reversed…25% off the remainder of the store and 10% off fashion…then we'd be talking.

  • Do you have to print out the flyer with the barcode or can it be scanned from a mobile?

    • +4

Last time the sale was on, my store asked for it to be printed. But they also had a bunch of already printed ones at the counter. I'd say be prepared. Could always use their instant photo booths to print it out there!

      • +1

Go to self checkout and scan the barcode from your phone. It worked for me and saved me around $7 today :)

  • excludes bonds underwear, is that bcos cost of manufacturing in Australia? I better check my undies, as I thought Made in China.
Big W - Bonds Underwear - tight arses. No offence to TA member.

Funny those excluded are the highest taxed (smokes) and tax evasive (@pple) products.

    • +2

Bonds dont manufacture here anymore, not for a few years. They shutup shop and moved overseas. And with that so did my support.

    • +1

Bonds have made nothing in Australia for years.

    • Or could be because they have a 50% off bonds sale this week at Big w on selected items including underwear?

    • +1

Just checked my Bonds. Designed in Australia. MADE IN CHINA. Why on earth this undies brand is specially excluded is beyond me. They are overpriced at RRP across the board.

    • I think it's excluded because they're already running a 50% off sale on Bonds this week

    • Bonds store have 40% off store wide if you buy 4 or more items. So better buy it off them than BigW.

      • +1

How is 40% off better than 50% off?

  • +1

Offer excludes Bonds underwear, Apple & Samsung products, tobacco & cigarettes cartons and packets, DVD Kiosk
    purchases

Does DVD Kiosk purchases mean all gaming items?

    • Nah, I hope not. Usually says Gaming specifically.

  • 150g Lindt box for $5.40

  • +1

Does it stack with employee cards?

    • +2

      No

  • +7

Fallout 4 is $69 in Big W's latest catalogue, so with this discount that brings it down to $62.10. That's for both the consoles and the PC version.

    • I've never played fall out but given everyone's on to it im wondering abt getting into it.

On sale/promotion is that a decent price? Otherwise happy to wait for the eventual $50 dollars or below promotions or pre owned after things get abit older?

      • cheap on gumtree

  • I just bought an Xbox One from there today, any chance I could go and claim the 10% discount?

    • No

      • +2

Buy a second one and return with receipt of the first one.

    • They also ve 20% off on their eBay store, why not buy it from there?

      • I would've! But they didn't have the bundle I was after online. Got 5% off the it through employee card though so can't complain, just curious about the friends and family discount.

      • Because ebay does not have any bundles at the moment cheaper than this one.

  • Drats! Got what I needed from there, two days ago! Hate that :)

    • +1

      No worries!

If you've still got the receipt and have not opened or used your purchased item, you can easily return it to any Big W store for a full refund… Then buy it again under this offer!

      • +2

Or alternatively, if you have used it, simply reverse the order, re-buy the exact same item, then return un-opened item using the original full price receipt.

        • Do you think they'll turn ugly face if you asked them for 10% refund at start then buy and full refund new after being rejected by them?

        • +1

          Sparkly idea!

        • +1

They might get narky. It's probably easier to just do the purchase and then return. No arguments, no agro.

      • Nah, worn my lovely new dress, already! Thanks anyway :)

  • +2

I was waiting for this to happen :)

Placed a lay-by on a LEGO Sandcrawler, I'll take it out and get the 10% refunded.

  • Would this stack with the Woolworths employee card?

    • +1

      Usually no.

      • Ive just contacted a friend of mine who works for Big W and he confirmed NO.

    • Just use your employee card with 5% discount eight cards for 10% all year long

  • Is it a unique code being one time use?

    • +1

No, you can print out the flyer and use it as many times as you like.
If they take it off you, just print another!

  • +1

Cool. A guy I don't like, whose name is Wil, got a comic book from there recently & didn't get the Friends & Family Discount

    • (profanity) Wil

  • Would the 25% include shoes, specifically Dunlop Volleys?

    • oh dear.

      • +1

They have really good grip! Great for some sports.

  • Didn't staff get discount Apple iPrducts last year? Not so good for staff this year?

  • Those who are interested, they sell the re-released Lego Star Wars Naboo Fighter for the already everyday low price of $75 (RRP $90). Down to $67.50 with this deal, and then basically $64.13 if you use 5% discount WISH cards.

I bought from Myer last week after price matching with BigW $75 (to use up some gift cards) and I overheard the manager say the cost price is $63.

  • +2

telstra Buzz for $71.10 less another 5% off with gift card so $67.55 normally $99 plus 5GB bonus data.

    • nice. i paid $75 at dick smith just a few days ago :(

  • Looks like they're clearing out their stock of car batteries. Got mine of clearance from $186 to $150 then less the 10% bringing it down to $135.

  • +2

    Thanks OP.

    • No problems TA!

  • Can anyone suggest any deal for a mouse, normal office use not for game?

  • Bonds already 50% off

  • Kayser undergarments have 40% off at Big W

  • This deal stacked with my staff discount today

    Wipes $10.00
    Birthday card $ 3.00
    Total $84.00
    staff card ($3.78)
    F&F offer* ($8.40)
    Revised total $71.82

    • The coupon I printed off this page wouldn't scan (probably my printers resolution) so the checkout girl scanned her's which worked.
  • +1

  • does the 10% off include other gift gift cards ie westfield etc? bunderberg ginger beer?

    • all giftcards are excluded mate.. have a read of the t&cs?

    • It'll include the bunderberg ginger beer, but take a look at 7-Eleven's deal! Only $1 for a 375ml I'm pretty sure: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/219088.

edit: ah, the 12-pack for $10 at Big W might not be discounted again. no harm in trying

  • So, I went and bought all my stuff and remembered at the car that I forgot to scan my voucher. Anyone know if they'll adjust my receipt? I was already done with shopping with kids, so just came home.
