I've been looking for a pair of QC 25's and the cheapest I can find is trying to price match http://www.boombeats.com.au/bose-quietcomfort-25-qc25-samsun… with Officeworks for $284 delivered. You have to call Officeworks to get the deal though, can't get it in store.

    • I thought I read somewhere on one of the other OzBargain posts that Officeworks were no longer doing the price match against Boombeats as they weren't an authorised Bose seller, regardless of whether you phoned them on 1300 OFFICE or went in store.

I take it you had success phoning them, if so how long ago?

      • +1

I haven't pulled the trigger on a pair yet but people got that deal this week on the ebay 20% thread pg 2.
        http://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/61450/34732/officeworks…

I'll give it a shot shortly and report back

          @tight-ass:

It works, i tried it last week.

        • +1

          @michaellee117:
I wasn't sure if it still worked though, however I can confirm it still does…..just ordered 2 for $568.08 delivered or $284.04 each

I was after a white one and a black one, however Officeworks only sell the black.

Excellent price thanks to Jinx & michaellee117 for pointing this out

        • @tight-ass:

Good to see it worked for you. I really want a pair but I'm not sure I'll get enough use out of them to justify the cost :(

      • +1

Confirmed for me too just ordered wait time on the phone was a little long but other than that smooth as silk :)

        • Worked for me tonight. They finally let me backorder.

  • Does anyone know if you can get either the Apple or Android version, then just get the "other" cable, and use it with both phones?

    • +1

I did come across this question when researching and apparently you can just buy whatever 'other' cable you need, but I can't find it now

You're welcome :P If only price matching could be an actual deal, I'd of posted it up ;)

Called OW this morning. She knew straightaway I was trying to pricematch boombeats and told me that they have been informed not to match boombeats prices as the stock wasn't Australian.

    • you must have got the lady I spoke to earlier! Sorry to hear that. Read my comment below

  • +2

That was a battle. Apparently there's been a company e-mail that office works has sent out saying Boombeats is not Australian stock and therefore they can't price match. I got to the payment part & got rejected as the call centre lady just received the e-mail at that time!
Quickly called back & managed to get a different staff member who obviously hadn't checked their e-mail yet & got the order processed! Get in there now!

    • +1

Fingers crossed they don't cancel those who got in before the directive was issued

    • I feel like this is a cop out on behalf of OW - given the fact that BB's website states that all products are genuine and either from an Aus Distributor or direct from manufacturer. Further to the "identical product", they even talk about manufacturer warranties in the T&C's:

      Guarantee Policy
All of the products sold on the Boombeats Down Under website are genuine products sourced from an official Australian distributor or direct from the manufacturer.
      […]
The manufacturer's warranties are limited to physical defects in the materials, parts and workmanship used in making the product. Abnormal conditions, deliberate abuse and damage due to accidents, operator's error, or unauthorised service attempts are excluded from any warranty claims.

Based on this I see no reason why they can suggest it's not Aus stock.

      • I emailed Bose, they said they're not an authorised reseller of theirs.

    • I might have just snuck mine through, called up and ordered a pair 18 Nov, picked it up 23rd Nov.

  • I ordered at yesterday and they have already debited my card. I am still waiting for the notification of pickup from the store. Fingers crossed they don't cancel the order.

  • An eBay seller just posted this:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Bose-QC25-QuietComfort-Noise-…

Price looks too good to be true but just bit bullet and bought one. Worst that can happen is I'll get my money back through Paypal two or so months later. He/She is claiming this to be AU stock and brand new(or money back). Two more remaining after I bought one.

    • I purchased one similar to this and it arrived pretty quick. Upon receiving it I noticed there was something ever so slightly off by it, yep they were counterfeits. ALMOST perfect counterfeits but some very small details gave it away. I'm currently trying to return them now.

      • Can I ask how you discovered it was a fake? Was it inferior build quality or NC not working at all or working with very little effect? If that is the case then this seller is falsely advertising these to be AU stock. I highly doubt there would be any difference between an AU model and a US model (the type where the counterfeiters usually use to copy packaging, serials, etc.) but I wish there is a way to find out. Maybe I'll take it to a Bose store and they will be able to help me out. All the above assuming that this is a counterfeit though.

        • Haha dude I gave in to temptation and just bought this one too. Praying its not fake now…

Yes so it was definitely cheaper plastic than on my real ones. The sound itself was almost identical, NC worked fine. Some other dead give aways were the LED being significantly brighter on the fakes, cut/finishing not perfect, the case suede was cheaper/not as nice feeling, and finally the last give away was the serial not registering. The first thing I'm going to do with this pair is try to register it, if it fails… its fake and I'll be done with it haha

        • @ohhidayo:
          Hi Mate,

I think we are in for a rough ride with this one - Paypal could be the only saviour.
More of these are popping up with item location all over Australia -Just one http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Bose-QC25-QuietComfort-Noise-…
And suckers like us buying each and every one of those. I could see few identical listings last night under multiple ebay seller IDs and all seem to have been snapped up by this morning except this one.

As you said I wouldn't even open the box. Will try to register as soon as I get hold of it using the SN on the box and if it fails a dispute will be opened. I have a very strong feeling these would be coming from China hence the long delivery time he is asking for. Here is another theory - Maybe the seller gets them dropshipped and then posts back to individual customers via AusPost. Worst case scenario - He could have withdrawn the cash and disappeared, coz he has 10+days to do all that.

BTW this morning I managed OW to price match boombeats. I guess it all depends on how lucky you get with the person on the phone. The lady I spoke with over the weekend had been too smart for me but this one processed the order no questioned asked. So one way or the other I'll get a QC25 for <$300 and assuming this seller is genuine one set is going to end up on eBay soon.

        • @websterp: ah damn… I think I'm done with trying to get them for cheap, If these are indeed fakes I'll just return them instantly and be done with it haha

        • +2

          @ohhidayo:

I'm struggling to understand how either of you thought these were legit in the first place? Even with PayPal it's not just as easy as saying 'they're fake cause I said they are, give me my money back'.

What will you do if they do register on Bose's website? Even Bose themselves say:

Counterfeit products carry no warranty from Bose, even if you register them. Successful registration of the serial number on a product does not guarantee authenticity of the product. Purchasing directly from Bose or an authorized dealer is the best way to ensure you're buying a genuine Bose product. If you think you may have purchased a counterfeit product, email us.

  • Well, I missed the boombeats price so figured i would price match at DJs given that I had a $30 voucher which was more than the 5% I would have saved at Officeworks.

So I went to Burwood. First guy I spoke to - no we don't price match. So I showed him the DJs price promise. Oh, well we only match to harvey norman and JB. So I show him again. Best speak to my manager.

Same thing from the manager, can't match it's below cost. We are Dick Smith, not DJs and we have different rules - so I google it and could not find different rules for Dick Smith in DJs or exclusions. APparently she will get a bollocking from her boss if she processes it. I do appreciate the problem, but I ask to speak to the store manager. Not here. OK cool, well whoever is in charge. No one is in charge. Righto, so you don't have a duty manager? OK I'll call her.

Duty manager comes and approves it in about 1 minute. Overall 20-30 mins just to get what they promise their customers online.

Still, very pleased with the headphones, i live next to a pretty busy road and I can sit there with a fan on half a metre away and not hear anything.

I just called OW and successfully price matched.

The guy placed the order for me. Just waiting for confirmation email now.

    Thanks guys!

  • Just did it myself
    No problems.

  • They are $339 odd on Myer today, so that can be price matched at OW too.

  • Just received mine Woot :) ordered 1.30pm Friday

  • +1

The two I ordered arrived today as well.

When placing my order I asked for the ones made for Android / Samsung devices, however on the packaging of the ones that arrived it says on the front in the bottom right hand corner "Made for iPod iPhone iPad" - Picture of it here - http://imgur.com/4t4pvdG

Did anyone else request one for Android / Samsung devices and did yours have the same on it???

    • +1

Yeah I got the same, although I wanted the iPhone version anyway, but the girl on the phone said there was no differentiation between them on her system, as the Officework's site says they're compatible with both, unlike all other stores which have the different versions separate.

    • Yeah i got the same one. I'm going to call OW tomorrow to see if they can replace it as the inline remote and microphone cable is different so it means you cannot use the + or - volume button. While the microphone function still works.

      • How did you go with that? DO officeworks stock the android version at all?

        • No, they don't stock android version as OW supplier don't have them. You can get the inline remote separately from Bose for $49.95 but if thats the case then you should order it at boombeats http://www.boombeats.com.au/bose-quietcomfort-25-qc25-samsun… for $298.99

        • +1

          @976925: Yeah.. Nah.

Do a bit of reading on this company and you'll see why you should avoid them. Hence why everyone is price matching with Officeworks in the first place to not have to deal with Boombeats!

  • For anyone still looking another option - I just ordered some all black ones on the Qantas store using points plus pay and then used a 10% coupon (QFFXMAS15) as well. I paid $80 + 40,000 points which I'm happy with but you can use as many or as little points as you want.

  • +1

Anyone still wanting to try their luck, I managed to order and pay this morning no problems. Thanks again to tight-ass for the initial post

  • As per above, I just called and spoke to a gentleman named Brendan. He suggested he's done it at least 5 times before and practically has it ready to copy and paste.

  • Anyone else still wanting to order, successfully placed an order via phone to be delivered within 1-3 days.

    Thanks OP!!

  • +1

Anyone had luck with Officeworks and the Android version of these headphones?

  • Thanks. I ordered yesterday and it arrived today.

  • +4

I ordered these on Friday from Officeworks and asked them to price match with boombeats website. I told the guy it was $298 from boombeats and he said yes we get lots of ppl asking to price match with them. So i said great how much can you do them for (seeing as you get the 5% beat it discount). The guy on the phone says $237. I had to ask him a couple of times b/c that had to be a mistake. Gave my CC details, still thought it was a mistake. Received the receipt 2 min later, still thought it was a mistake. Didn't receive them Friday (as i ordered before 11:30 am), still thought it was a mistake. Called back in the PM and they said price matches take longer b/c they need to get approved from a manager, still thought it was a mistake and they would reject the order. Checked my CC statement and it had the debit of $237, still thought it was a mistake.

Just received them today (Monday). Still can't believe i only paid $237 for these babies, merry christmas to me.

Note: They do not have Android versions and although if you call and ask for Android they will just confirm they are but they only stock the iphone/ipad. You can just buy the android cable from bose if you need.

    • Nice one! Better post your receipt so others can have a crack at getting that price!

      • +2
        • Thanks for posting this - awesome deal.

NooB question - I see people posting invoices all the time on this forum. How would one go about getting this price using this invoice? Do you call up OW and show them this?

        • @phantomburner:
Not entirely sure I guess you can call them up and see what the price match is. I'm not sure why I got them so cheap but I thought I'd just get 5% off the matched price. You could say a friend got them for $237. Been using them all day and they are an awesome headphone.

        • Can you PM me the uncensored version of this? Want to try and price match this at JB

    • That's a seriously good price!! :-)

Still haven't gotten to use mine yet, sent them down home with my dad when he was up the other weekend so I'm not tempted to open them before Christmas :P

    • Just a quick question regarding the iphone vs the android versions - will the iphone version still work on an android phone? I'm buying one for a mate for his 40th, and I'm pretty convinced he won't be using it other than during his travels, so should the iphone version be suffice on his android phone?

Edit - just saw you reply below, whoops..:)

  • Just called Bose if you want the Android cable then it will be AU $49.95 delivered. I have an Android and while you can answer a call, pause and resume music the volume buttons do not work. You also don't get the extra cable with no controls on it (they used to throw them in with the QC 15's). So if this isn't an issue good luck to anyone who can get them this cheap. The price was just too good to return and office works don't sell Android version.

  • Confirming OW price match still works as of the 1st. $284.04 next day delivered.

    • I just had 2 colleges (today 02/12/2015) purchase them for $237 as did I.

      • +1

I tried with your receipt but got declined. Do you know what they did to get the price you did?

      • $239 is probably 5% off from $249
I assume the guy who did the discount is mistaken put the full price as $249.

    • Still able to OW price match as at 3/12/2015. I got $284 instead of the below $237.

      • Tried last evening but they are now out of stock :(

  • Just wondering if this deal is still good?

    • It is but officeworks is out of stock (Due to the price matching hehe)

  • for those considering buying from boombeats
    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2353988

  • Anyone else found a place with a cheap price ?

  • Still waiting for them to come back in stock. They did let me backorder them though.

  • +1

Called OW this morning and was told they do not do price match with Boombeats or Sydney Hifi anymore, in stock or not. Tried to convince them saying that one of my "friend" got price matched but they insisted that they can't match with those websites but only jb hifi, dicksmith, harvey norman and the good guys, etc.

  • Just got local JB hifi to price match OW but they did $284.84. Wasn't going to push for the 80cents they added haha great deal !! Merry xmas

    • how did you do it mate? so jbhifi pricematched boombeats page?

      • I actually used the OW receipt that was above I didn't see the $237 invoice until after haha. If u need my in hifi invoice let me know.

        • Can you show me your invoice? Thank you.

        • Same, can you kindly share your receipt

    buymac is about same price

  • How do I upload the image?

    • you can use sites like imgur.com or imageshack.us

    • I think you can upload files in "My Account" - "files"

      • +3
        • Thanks rheyt, used this invoice got price match with JB Castle Tower for $285…paid with my citi debit card with 3% cash back from citibank, very happy

        • @ipac: I'm glad someone was able to use it. I love these headphones on my bus trip. Almost miss my stop they block out so much.

  • Nice, thanks! I'll try in Sydney JB today. Although Officeworks is now $350, I suspect they'll need to check, or will seeing this receipt suffice? Anyone had any luck with it?

    • No dice with two JB here in Canberra. On either the $237 or $284 price.

      • No dice today with JB HIFI Pitt St, Sydney. The guy told me that you can fake receipts easily these days so they will only match a live website.

        • I was offered $309 as a compromise from a JB. Considering taking it.

  • Just an update and reminder, try Myer. I tried a couple of jb hifi yesterday and gave another shot at OW but both failed. Then I thought I should give a go with Myer as I remembered they do price match with some conditions. So I tried with the $284 OW receipt, the staff called in and then told me he can only do $287 as $284 is "below their cost price". Well it's not $284 but $3 is not that bad, and I think Myer should be a better choice then OW or JB as both of them are refusing to price match these days.

    • didn't think of myer, I did try in DJs today but they said no.

    • Did you get the $50 Myer card with that?

  • Hi Guys, thanks for sharing the info, so i tried officeworks today, it worked (provided boombeats' price $299 something), it only took like 10mins to put the order, the price is $275.49!!!

    • here is the email comfirmation: http://imgur.com/Xmul4au

      • Lucky, i got denied the Officeworks PM. Ended up grabbing from a JB as the headache of shopping around at this time of year while travelling was worth the $10-20. (not very Ozb i know)

    • Did you manage to get your headphones? I ordered mine a day before but still waiting for them to be delivered.

      • Yes, it is available for me to pick them up since 5 days ago, I think I bought the last pair from online store. Good Luck~

  • Hey Guys, no luck for me :( please help i have been trying to get JB HI FI to match that receipt but they haven't… I called main office and they said there was no stock left.. Please Help me. Thanks
