        Lucky you got here first!!!

  • Smallish discount on very expensive amplifier, a bit of a niche product really???

    • I wouldn't call a $1k amplifier expensive. There are heaps that goes 100k+

40% off is a smallish discount? As for niche product - if you have a house with a cinema room, this is the sort of receiver you need to run it. As much as a pains me to say it, lots of McMansions come with cinema rooms these days.

This a great unit at a good price. I bought one before Christmas for $1450, so $1049 is a killer price.

  • only $1049 …. lol..

  • shame there are only 2… should have posted some basic specs (not copy and paste them all)

    5 hdmi ports… nice.

  • If there is only 2 its hardly a bargain

  • Well $1499 is the RRP so if you couldn't go under $1500 then you are struggling, apparently someone picked one up for $850 from HN http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?showtopic=81936

    • I agree, I'm sure you could get one down to this price range ($1000 ish) at HN/JB with a bit of haggling.
Although, this looks pretty good for no effort at all and delivered.

  • considering JBHIFI are selling them for $1400 i find it hard to beleive that HN would do it that price unless you bought heaps of expensive stuff together. Even then Its always the case of my uncles friends son go it for this much, but it hardly happens.

  • I dont want to sound like a winger. but I've seen a few of these deals lately, and there are several problems with them.

first of all the definition of a bargain is "incredible deal"
I know these receiver sounds like a good deal, comparing RRP to this price.
But most electronics shops dont sell at the RRP, also JBHIFI, bing lee, and such make huge profits with things like this, so If you bargain with them, they tend to drop the price quite heavily.

The other problem is if you're not looking for this model in particular, there are tons of good options around the $1000 price.
I got my pioneer 1100 for 900 bucks.
