The catalogs in store don't include the voucher. Usually it's only in the catalogs that are sent out to VIP customers through the mail and email. But you can definitely use one digital voucher per day in store from your mobile phone. The coupons all have the same generic barcode as the one pictured above.
This time I was not sent out, it was bundled up with all the other catalogues in the letterbox (JB hifi, etc). Maybe they distributed the wrong version of the catalogue in my suburb?
So i believe Spotlight sends out the regular "junk" catalogue for everyone that is bundled with other various catalogues like JB HiFi, and you may or may not get this depending on your suburb. Then, if you're a VIP customer, you should also receive the catalogue (plus all the extra leaflets and coupons) bundled up in a white, VIP envelope.
If you don't receive the special VIP mailer then it can be because you don't scan your card regularly enough. In this case, you may only receive every second or third VIP mailer.
However, the Spotlight VIP card system has a lot of technical issues. Like, A LOT. I work there, it's really bad. If you want to receive the VIP mail then your best bet is to call customer care on 1300 305 405 and get them to fix it. Good luck!
But if you just want to use this coupon then the picture above works fine.

They usually email them to VIP customers too. I have had no trouble using the deal more than once in the past. They just limit the offer to once a day per VIP member.

I got it emailed to me. Spotlight VIP is seriously the most random club ever, sometimes I get emails, rarely I get catalogues in the mail… there seems to be no rhyme or reason!
As usual Darwin doesn't exist :(.

Wish they'd specify sheet weave in the online store. Most descriptions just say 'cotton'. Cotton what? Plain/percale or sateen?

Just received and email with the coupon :) although the code is different to the catalogue….generic code on catalogue and per the email it said you can redeem on your phone even though the t&cs say you have to surrender. I have had no trouble in the past using them again but only once per day

Mount Druitt store gave me a hard time and wouldn't accept copies.
I used a copy I was emailed today (on my phone) and is said print or show so I would challenge them not accepting it from your phone.
Also I was buying outdoor cushions that were marked down from $49.95 each to $25 and then my store had a special where all clearance cushions were $15 so I bought 8 which is $120, used the coupon and it came down to $72… which makes me think it is 40% off not $40 off — even better!!!
There is currently a 'Spend and Save ' sale on cushions where if you buy 4 or more cushions you get 40% off, so this brought down you from $120 to $72, thus you didn't have enough merch to use the $40 coupon (because your total was only $72 after all discounts and not $100 or more). So, for example, you could have gotten 12 cushions for $180, then the 40% spend a save would make it $108 and then the $40 off would make it $68.
Nope these were on clearance so the spend and save didnt apply.
This particular spend and save sale does include clearance cushions. Anyway, i just wanted to make clear that the voucher is definitely $40 off and not 40%.
Voucher works fine online. Used it yesterday to get a sewing machine and now purchasing gift cards with it.

You can use gift cards to pay for your items after using the voucher but you cannot purchase gift cards when using the voucher (or at least you shouldn't be able to, sometimes the computer system does not recognise the difference and staff members forget).
Has anyone used this online yet? I can't seem to buy anything with the vouchers listed here.
You just need to enter the code on the voucher and click redeem, but you need to be logged in as a VIP member.
