5 shirts for $60 delivered. Thanks OP.

    • +5

How did you get 5 for $60 incl. shipping?
You have to spend $100 (after all coupon) to get free shipping…

    • I'm wondering about this as well

  • Which shirts are better quality?
The Egyptian Cotton business shirts from target or the ones on sale at Van Heusen?

    http://www.target.com.au/c/men/businesswear/business-shirts/…

    • I can't comment on the Target ones, but all my shirts are Van Heusen and I've got no complaints.

The Van Heusen sale items at $34.95 come down to $20.97 with this code so are almost half the price of the Egyptian Cotton.

      • +1

Does the code stack with the $20 off code from subscribing?

edit: It doesn't work. The coupon code box disappears after you enter one code in.

        • No, unfortunately for us coupons do not stack at this store.

    • I can't wear Van Housen shirts, had a few business ones and they get real stanky for some reason

      • +3

Van Heusen have been solid in the past but i bought some recently and the quality has definitely declined.
Not bad for the price though.
I had one shirt listed as 100% cotton and labelled as such but is most definitely 100% polyester.

      • +5

I have 1 Van Heusen and the quality seems really cheap. Very thin and hard to iron.

        • +1

This. VERY hard to iron, doesn't matter how hard I try, it always comes out crinkly.

        • +3

          @mazorn:

protip : hang it in your bathroom before taking a shower, the steam helps. Then iron it straight away.
Works for some hard to iron shirts for me!

        • +1

          @spawnpoint:
Nope, I've had a mix of these VH shirts and NOTHING works on the creasy ones. Some iron fine others no matter what you do and how much steam you use they always look crinkled. They often look ok on the ironing board but between the time you lift it off the board and do up the button it looks like you slept in it :(

        • @mazorn: that's right! stanky and crinkly. Depends on what you're after really, better quality shirts do tend to be quite expensive so these can be a good compromise for some. Fit is pretty good as well.

        • @stingostingo: You all should try spend a bit more on better quality shirts than complain about why the cheap ones are crap. I've had van Heusen and now have MJ Bale and TM Lewis (double folded cotton) and won't look back. Recently got 3 TM Lewis shirts at approx $48 each delivered because of a deal posted on this site. They look, feel and iron a thousand times better than van Heusen and the Target Egyptian cotton shirts (I've got one of them as well thanks to the wife and are not worth what they sell for).

        • @Trishool: Oh not complaining, just a heads up not to expect high quality/expensive shirts

  • +1

    Thanks OP!!!!

  • Can anyone comment on the quality of their business trousers?

    • +2

Brilliant, I have 3 pairs and they are very soft and comfortable.

      • Thanks! Their business trousers all seem to be out of stock in my size. Any idea what's the difference between their suit vs business trousers?

        • +1

I think the suit pants are single colour and have wool blend. Mine are black/grey poly/viscose/elastine blend. Also the poly blends you can get away with hand washing as opposed to dry cleaning.

    • +1

I have 3 pairs of these suit trousers (bought by themselves, 3 separate orders over the past 6 months, around $90ea) and they are SOOOO comfortable which is why I keep buying more. Wearing a pair right now, as I do every Mon-Thurs (casual Friday).
      http://www.vanheusen.com.au/van-heusen-evercool-tapered-suit…

But I also have a pair of their cheaper "business pants" (sale price ~$50) and found them fairly uncomfortable - and awkward pocket design - so I never wear them and would not buy again.

FYI you can cold machine wash (on gentle) the wool blend suit pants - despite them saying dry clean only - mine did not shrink at all thankfully.
If they were 100% wool that could be a problem - but I think they are only 70%.

How does Van Heusen business shirts compared to Charles Tyrwhitt?? Anyone know?

    • +2

To me, it's like comparing Kmart to VH as CT shirts quality is no match for VH.

    • +3

Charles Tyrwhitt is a step above Van Heusen. Better quality material, thicker collar, ok brass collar stays, 6 month free return shipping no questions. Choose Charles Tyrwhitt if you have $33-$39 to spend per shirt.

Van Heusen doesn't display the weave in the product details of their shirts, so it's a blind buy like all other budget shirts. Choose Van Heusen if you're on a budget as it's one of the best budget shirt brands.

      • Then here's hoping Charles Tyrwhitt gets cheaper than $100 for 3 shirts delivered.

  • Quality is on factor but fit is also important

    • +1

I have found the fit to be fine, but if you get it wrong they have a free return process where you can exchange for another size. They also offer 30 day returns if you aren't happy with the quality or change your mind and the item is in original condition (haven't worn the item).

Who took all the 82 Navy business trousers ffs !!

    • +2

      Broden !

    • +8

      err… the navy?

  • +2

in my experience stitching is shoddy, especially the cuff buttons.

  • I like the belts, but I still have to pay $9.95 for shipping. >.>

  • +3

Picked up a 100 % wool bag of fruit for $120. To my amazement I then got a $10 credit from Amex for shopping small. Cheering.

    • +1

Yeah I know, I just got that as well. I was surprised that VH is considered small business !

      • +1

Thanks guys for mentioning this. I used my AMEX and got the bonus too.

  • Shipping kind of kills it

  • I bought 5 casual shirts some months ago and I don't regret. Specially for this price, less than $20 each.

The support it's also very good if you need to return an item.

Too bad they do not have more Small sizes as they fit incredibly well on me, I would buy some more. I Didn't try the medium.

  • can you use cashback rewards and pricepal at the same time? I ask as i notice my Chrome Pricepal is no longer showing up - has this happened to anyone and found a workaround?

    thanks

    • Sorry what do you mean by cashback rewards? Cashrewards?

You cant use cashrewards and pricepal at same time. My chrome pricepal shows 9% cashback.

      • sorry, yes cashrewards (didnt mean to make up a new name). Is there any trick to getting Chrome to show the pricepal menu bar if its not showing? Or whats the method of getting both systems applied

        E.G.
        1. click through site from cashrewards
        2. ?

Dont know how you're getting 9% standard is 5%
        http://pricepal.com.au/Van-Heusen

        Any help appreciated

        • If your chrome does not show pricepal then better you login to your pricepal account and then from there navigate to store you would like to make purchase from.

I m founder member for pricepal and hence i get more cashback than normal members.

You can do one thing. If you are not already pricepal member, you can create your account using referral link and you should get $20 in your bonus account. And everytime you make purchase, pricepal will match each $ of your cashback with $ from your bonus. So eventually you'll get double cashback.

        • @pyramid: Thanks. I am a member and after i restarted Chrome and logged back in the pricepal menu bar was showing again. This will be the first time i've used cashrewards and pricepal in conjunction with eachother. Nice one on the founding member status!

Just got 6 Shirts for $101 inc free shipping (all casual shirts… 4 were $20 to begin with 2 were $45) - $68 saved, pretty stoked!

PS - im a 32 waist, 80 odd kg and about 5,11 - Med casual fits perfect

  • Pretty much sold out in anything decent in my size.. :(

    • try the casual shirts section

      • I just bought some TM Lewin gear instead in the end (with the 30% off Frenzy deal)

        • +1

much nicer business shirts… cufflinks look so much better than buttons

  • got 4 shirts in my size, thanks!

  • Thanks. Code works for all the sale items as well.

One week on and no order updates or ETA for order.

This is not the first time it has happened, suspect they have oversold their stock yet again.

    • +1

I've never have problems in the past, but yes this time they seem to be quite slow getting things moving.

      • +1

Last time I ordered and a week later called them, only to find out that one of the items was sold out and another was awaiting fulfilment (maybe sent in from a DFO outlet??), since they had me on the phone they decided to cancel my order as the items I wanted are discontinued.

Not the best result, let's see what happens this time when I don't call them.

    • +1

      Nothing here either.

    • Haven't heard anything yet either. I sent them an email on Thursday, haven't heard back from that either, so much for 'we will get back to you within 1 business day.'

  • Looks like it was delivered, I need to pick up from post office.
