  • Use them and can recommend the interface.

  • There seems to be some mixed views on Torguard:

  • "100% Uptime"? ? ? I say Pigs arms to that.
What else are they over exaggerating about?

But $30/yr is cheap if you don't need need speed.

    • Depends what their definition is I suppose, I use them and I've definitely had connections to some servers drop and be offline for quite a while, BUT .. I've always been able to switch to another one.

It seems a bit disingenuous but technically they could maybe make that claim.

Hi I have been with these guys for years. Great product and great support.

Be aware though in Oz since Netflix launched, isp's are very aggressive with qos, throttle all traffic which their dspi cannot classify, kills vpn speeds.
    Any isp in the M2 group will be most impacted for two reasons;
    A) their backbone is heavily congested from all oz bargainers with unlimited plans
    B) they pride themselves on delivering an excellent Netflix / presto ect streaming service and use aggressive qos to maintain the experience.

I had to change isp's to "belong" and demand to have qos removed, which they did and the speed returned to normal. I get around 9mbps over a 11mbps links.

Speed depends on many areas, from my experience torguard in Russia , Romania and Canada (stopped using Canada) have all been excellent.

  • Another day, another vpn provider. Never ending stories…..

Used for the last 6months, paid US$30. Looks like standard price special from Previous OZB posted deals.
Can recommend. PIA is good too, but Torguard works well for myself.
I tested alot of different VPNs providers when the new laws came out and their speeds took a hammering.
Make sure you use UDP not TCP.
Torguard still get okay speeds to Canada(Torrent and Netlfix), but they have decreased over last few months. Romania, USA, etc… still great speeds over Telstra Cable.
User interface is easy and Torguard on Mobile client is good to use when on open-wifi areas ( While travelling, cafe etc)
And works well on Merlin on ASUS RT-AC68U.
    My 2c.

  • if you are downloading would you say that a vpn is pretty essential now? Also if I am already getting 3rd world speeds with optus ADLS2+ (3Mbps) is this going to make those speeds worse? All advice very welcome… cheers

  • Just signed up for a yearly VPN service.

Easy to sign up, pay, and install program.

Less than 10 mins all up for me.
