  • Great price, it's even cheaper than dse.

    • +1

Hell no. The cheapest at DSE ever for the older ones (Pebble classic and Pebble Steel) were pretty much those prices, but in AUD with all of those flash sales and 20-30% discounts.

      • I was talking about the pt.

186aud vs 199aud and it'll ship the next day instead of a preorder with unknown stock days from dse.

      • Yeah, DSE have had the classic pebble on sale for $79 once, and regularly sell it in the low $80s, so this is not much of a deal for the classic.

But the Pebble Time is priced pretty well, down from $200USD, and it's not available at DSE yet.

  • Where on EArth are you seeing those discounted prices in your title?
It's a good deal if it's real but I'm not seeing anything from the link except the 10% discount offer in the top banner.

    • It's right there on the page for me. Does anyone else not see it? Have you tried scrolling down?

    • OK doesn't work from EU. Shows original prices in Euros with no discount. VPN fixed that.

  • The prices are as the OP reported when I click on his link.

  • plus 10% sign-up discount takes the price down to $117. That is very tempting.

    • +2

Don't think the 10% applies to the already discounted models.

  • Such a thick black border on the time steel seems a waste of real estate

  • +1

that bezel is way too wide!

    • You get a bezel with your bezel so you can bezel while you bezel.

  • Great price on the Pebble Time. I bought one a few weeks back when they were reduced to USD$149, so this $129 price is great. I'm wearing it right now.

  • Thanks for the deal, dunno if I'll cancel my DSE preorder though

    • I already have, and have ordered from Pebble, and paid USD$25 for quick delivery. I got sick of waiting.

      • how much did it come to all up in AU$?

        • I used paypal. My credit card company has translated the USD224.99 into $322.623, I think.

        • @barryquinn: My PTS will be here Friday. It will be interesting to find out when the first one is sold by DSE, and for how much.

        • @barryquinn: Lucky you. We are still getting "we don't know when stock is going to arrive" bullshit from DSE.

        • @barryquinn: Pretty sure we know it'll be $249 AUD based on this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/214864

        • @ChillBro: Very old news. If you look there, you will see that I pre-ordered but got sick of waiting. While the pre-order price was $249, there is no guarantee that the ordinary price will be $249, and no indication of when it will be available. We have been kept waiting six weeks already.

  • I recently bought a pebble classic from DSE at one of their regular sales - $83. Loved it… until it failed with a definite hardware problem after a couple of weeks. Have had no joy with DSE online or in store yet - the black is out of stock in my area and on-line so they claim there is nothing they can do to replace it - supposedly stock is in transit but I've been waiting a month. A real shame because the watch itself was great; simple, long battery life yet really useful to see sms and call notifications, exercise and sleep patterns.

out of curiosity - what's the hardware problem? screen tear?

(bought mine from dse, but dealt direct with pebble support for warranty issue. they were a pleasure to deal with.)

      • back button on LHS stopped working, then watch started freezing on attempted reset, then failed completely with blank screen. Tried everything - ran it entirely flat, reinstalled software on phone, did multiple factory resets - frustrating.

Interesting to hear things went well for you dealing directly with Pebble on warranty - I assumed it would be easiest with DSE; walk into a store and get a replacement. The guy I dealt with at the DSE store (Eastern suburbs of Sydney) was great and keen to help, but just didn't have black in stock. Did Pebble have to replace your unit?

        • +1

Yes - Pebble offered to send a new one (Pebble classic) at no cost. Just had to take a photo of it with the serial number (of the faulty unit), and they sent a new one. Did not require me to send back the old one.

Based on what I've read (reddit/pebble forums), I'd be confident to assume they would look after you too. IIRC it took around 2 weeks for the new unit to arrive.

Hope you get it resolved soon!

        • @justin_tsoi: as above for me too

    • +1

Forget DSE, they are as useless as you'd expect.

Instead contact Pebble support via the app on the phone, and detail the fault. They will likely get back to you with a request for some information, and then send you a replacement unit in the post.

  • Is the time steel worth the premium over the pebble time when you only get the leather band ?

    • Personal preference. I have purchased both.
However, even though they are similar, i did not like the look of the standard time and love my Time Steel.

    • Go cheapest option then sell it after a few months if you want to upgrade

  • I had the same problem as justin_tsoi, bought from DSE last Christmas but dealt with pebble direct and my replacement is currently en route.

isn't it a rule of this site to put the AUD in the title too? It's pretty annoying when it isnt.

    • +1

      Post edited to include $AU.

  • If only they discounted pebble time round… i just don't like square watches =/

  • +1

Pebble time has better specs and will continue to get updates. Original pebble has very limited memory and so has less future proofing. As a pebble owner, if recommend spending the extra for a time model

  • I haven't been able to find the 10% discount advertised anywhere. I've also tried signing up with 3 different emails, but none have worked sop far :/

    • You should get a banner at the top of the page advertising it. Also try just leaving the page open for a few minutes, a big popup appears sometimes with it. If that still doesn't work maybe try a different browser.

Note it's only for the Pebble Round and Pebble Steel.

      • fair enough. so it wouldn't work on the pebble time/time steel?

        • +1

The 10% discount only works on full price models, so no it won't work on either of the time models.
