The Telstra 4GX Buzz prepaid phone is $63 in-store but I mentioned Mates Rates and got $10 off. They asked for my email and the receipt appeared in my email.

  • Thanks OP, if you could not find in DSE stocks, like other ozbargainer mentioned before, BIG W in Hillarys, WA got few of these phones selling for $63 (advertised on Telstra A4 Size poster on dispay Counter) . i Bought 2 yesterday. and… also, from BIG W in Kingsway, WA, i bought Optus prepaid Alcatel one TOuch pixie 3(4.0 inch screen) for half price $30, but it might be last stock though. Good for kids or spares.

  • Hey OP, can you put up a copy of the receipt please?

    • +1

Screenshot of receipt posted as the image.

  • Have to say never been this cheap. Was looking for this phone and wait for this price. finally purchased another one as cannot wait

Better deal $63.20 delivered from Telstra with free Monster DNA on-ear headphones https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/prepaid-mobiles/tel…

  • Will this work on Optus 4G? Prefer this over the Fit as its running Lollipop

    • Yes it will work on Optus 4G (if unlocked) but it doesn't support Optus' 900MHz 3G (if you go out of 4G areas).

  • ^ @Tezza - Check the other deal posted in OP's post. You'll need to get an unlock code for ~$6.

  • I wonder if this can this be plugged into the USB port on ~various routers which support a 3G/4G "modem" and act as one.

    • @ Lukian

      Yes that does work.

      win10

      • Routers run Windows 10 these days? I'm more referring to say the Asus and Billion models.

        • @ Lukian
          -No need to be a smart#$$ !

Sure Does work (router plugged into win 10 desktop)

Using it on a TP Link TL-MR3420 ver2

(using a ZTE fit smart plugged into usb port running rooter software)

(altho i find it works better plugged directly into desktop) -mobile that is!

        • @snappy1234: The version of windows (or linux, or mac or IoT) shouldn't matter as long as the router likes the device. Running rooter software & your router model was the important information here. Thanks for following up :)

        • @Lukian:

          All good. :)

  • and this is what i get when i tried again for 2nd day, typical telstrafail : https://onlineshop.telstra.com.au/prepaid-mobile/i_error ( now i got to figure out if telstra had processed the order and charged my credit card or not)

    • Just placed my order with Telstra. Tried through CashRewards in case there is any cash back.

Hope there is stock of the headphones, otherwise just wasted over $10 with Mates Rates & 5% rebate ME card.

Will use only for data on Telstra, replacing an older Huawei G526 or Y550.

      • CashRewards tracked purchase & showing $10 which would be a nice bonus :-)

  • This, or the Sony E4G with every band for $99 from Aussie Post? (currently running Kit Kat)?

    • with every band

      E4G doesn't have 700mhz band? So not every band…

Pretty sure it does. It's advertised in the catalogue with Band 28 4GX & I'm pretty sure band 28 is 4G 700.
However, I have read something about not supporting VoLTE (4G calls basically). Not sure what other phone under $100 do either though?

It may be a game changer as the 3G 850 band would no longer be an issue for Optus phones such as the ZTE FIT etc…if they support VoLTE?

      • ^ ah nice, i stand corrected! :)

(sorry, was using bing search on my phone, which i find very frustrating at times!)

  • Done x2 with telstra and the free headphones
    Thanks

  • How long does Telstra usually take to deliver?

    • Ordered at lunch time, 5 hours later processing at Startrack centre (Prestons CLOC).
Telstra's standard fulfilment warehouse is located at CLOC, 21 Ash Rd, Prestons NSW 2170

      • How did you track the order?

        • Telstra sent tracking link in email saying order was dispatched.

Now at Sydney DFPC for flight, so may receive it tomorrow.

        • +2

Just received phone & headphones in Brisbane :-)

        • @Infidel:

Just got mine too 2305. Now considering if I should part with either!

        • @Carydadon:
Am using the phone, but haven't unboxed the headphones - in case I sell them. Waiting to hear others opinion on sound quality. But probably will keep both.

(As HN are clearing them at $129, they're likely to sell for close to that. Phone is selling for same price as purchase.)

  • ^^^ Delivery of your order

We aim to deliver all orders within two business days in metro areas and five business days in regional areas (subject to stock availability, your credit approval and location).

  • Ok, I can't post a "wanted-add" as it breaches the rules. However, I also cannot place an add in the Classified section as it says I've reached my limit, yet never posted anything in there ever??

So…lets just say I'm looking for someone who no longer wants their Huawei Y550 as mine got stolen last week and I just need one to recover my backup data and move on to a 4GXBuzz.

If any good fellow fills the need to deliver a good deed I would be most grateful.

    Hopefully that doesn't breach anything..

  • Pulled the trigger and bought it, can someone confirm that the unlock code works? Also how are the headphones????
