I didn't know there where multi-capsule machines out there. Good flexibility.

So how does this compare to exclusive Nespresso machines with Nespresso pods?

  • fyi - we own 2 of the EMO180 milk frothers, my partner really likes them… Sturdy, long lasting… Froths milk, that's all i care about.

It's $85 RRP but usually $69 at TheGoodGuys.com.au and JBHifi Home.

    • The Aldi one has lasted me 2 coffees a day for years and it's less than half the price. I think I'll get another Aldi one when this packs it in.

      • Aldi has redesigned the machine, which looks very modern. Have a look.

Mmm the new instant Coffee, 10% better tasting, 100% worse for the environment.

  • Reviews have been mixed - a few reports that the pods don't pierce properly.

Personally I'd rather just get a dedicated machine and use the correct pods. Machines like the Caffitaly have such a wide range of pods from a variety of brands, so you are sure to find a good tasting pod for yourself.

The Aldi machine is similar too - the only difference being Aldi have their own pods, but the range is good, so it's not an issue.

I guess if you were in an office with a BYO pod setup, then a machine like this would make sense as everyone can bring what they want; however, I can see the various pod adapters getting lost.

  • I've been really happy with mine. It's been good trying all the different pods looking for the perfect one.
We got some hot chocolate pods that the machine would not pierce properly which I just poped a hole with the end of a knife. All other coffee pods we tried have been fine.

  • The multi-capsule machine is a great idea if it works as advertised. Take advantage of the various revolving specials in different capsule formats, and if you don't pay enough attention in the coffee aisle and bring home the wrong capsule you can still use them……instead of having pods that you have to cut open and empty into a plunger like I seem to do every 2nd week, goddammit.
