"MASSIVE 30% OFF THIS WEEKEND - CHINESE NEW YEAR SPECIAL OFFER" — from Lenovo.

Roar into the Year of the Tiger with huge discounts this weekend. Hurry, offer ends February 14th. Use eCoupon AUPCNY130210.

Products:

  • ThinkPad T400/T500 — 30% off (Excludes T400/T500 Basic Home Office)
  • ThinkPad X200/X200s — 25% off
  • ThinkPad W500 — 25% off
  • ThinkPad X Tablet — 25% off

I think they are phasing out those older Core 2 Duo based ThinkPad for T410/T510 (i5 based I think), so there's massive discount at the moment. 30% off is on top of currently discounted price. For example this configuration (ThinkPad T400 Mainstream Home Office)

  • Core 2 Duo P8700 2.53GHz
  • Windows 7 Home Premium
  • 14.1" WXGA LCD
  • GMA X4500
  • 2GB DDR3
  • 250GB HDD
  • DVD Recordable
  • 4 Cell Battery
  • 1 Year Warranty

RRP: $2331.92, Discounted Price: $1981.92, After eCoupon applied: $1387.34

Also please compare apple with apple (no pun intended). ThinkPad T series are business notebooks comparable to maybe Dell Latitudes.

I would reserve my vote on this one.
I just bought a Laptop for my wife HP Dv7 2112TX, which is 17" High Definition LED laptop.
4 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD,ATI Radeon I GB graphics,HDMI connectivity etc- plus Windows 7 Home Premium via free upgrade ( 20USD Handling postage).
All for under AUD 1300 delivered.
    And a better processor P8800 ;-)

Having said that, this is also a good deal- just not for me thanks ;-)
    Cheers,
    VP

Got a Lenovo T500 from work, fantastic machine. But for the same price tag I would go with Asus instead. It has additional 1 year international warranty.

I just tried to buy one of these. The coupon does not work with any basic (home office) model. You need to buy one of the enhanced or gamers models for the coupon to work. Essentially, this offer provides the upgraded model for the basic price. It doesn't offer a discount on the basic model.

Given that, I'm not going to bother with a Lenovo, I think Asus offers better value.

  • It seems like a good deal, especially for Lenovo which is seen as a premier brand.

For all you techies out there, how much value do you put upon a processor if it has higher cache but the same or marginally better clock rate?

  • There are i3 and i5 processors. But no i7s. though the site says there are!
