      • We did have some trouble in the past. Flashing new ROMs are very easy and Xiaomi provide several methods of doing it.

  • Price have gone upto $308 now.

    • We've got it back down to $199 US now.

      • Hey, how do i know if my order is in first batch or second or third? From your website "Dear Customers, The first batch pre-order will be shipped out on 4th Dec, and the next batch will be shipped out between 11th to 16th Dec.Thank you for your always support."

I want phone before 17th Dec.

  • I just got another 6% code for banggood.. supposedly unique but I might be able to stack it with the existing 6% off.

  • I hope someone associated with Geekbuying can match or better Banggood's price. WIth the 6% off Banggood coupon, it brings the phone down from $295.22AUD to $277.51AUD at Banggood <—— That's like $10 cheaper for a silver model than Geekbuying (Note: The grey on Geekbuying is advertised for $199.99USD and the silver being advertised at $209.99USD)…And as stated above via Cashrewards, a further 4.8% cashback is available, taking the phone to under $266AUD.

Geekbuying, are you monitoring this? It's the OzBargain Community here, and we expect a better deal! :)

    • Geekbuying was so sending Phone via TNT and delivery in 5-7 days. Does your bangood price include this?

    • +1

A few negative points about Banggood is…

      • The 6% off coupon by Banggood is not on cashrewards, so it's very likely that you won't receive cashback by using it.

      • Stock arrives on the 25th at Banggood and the 18th at Geekbuying.

      • Geekbuying offers free TNT Shipping compared to Banggood's free airmail.

All for a $2.78 US difference.

      • Does this sold out?

      • From experience that free TNT shipping ends up being DHL :). Make sure you put down your suburb as the City otherwise you'll have issues where your order is held up because they match City to Suburb in DHL's database. Happened to a ZUK Z1 order for my friend and Geekbuying didn't say anything until we chased them up

        • DHL says I live in a remote area and I've never had a problem with the cheap/free TNT with all of my Geekbuying orders.

      • For clarity sake:

        Banggood Silver is $295.22
        Geekbuying Silver is $296.04

        Banggood coupon is 6% using "xmas06" = -$17.71
Geekbuying no coupon = $0 (unless someone has a valid coupon code?)

        Banggood cashrewards is 4.8% = -$13.32
        Geekbuying cashrewards is 1.8% = -$5.33

Banggood Stock Arrival for silver is 25 Dec 2015
Geekbuying Stock Arrival for silver is 31 Dec 2015

        Net Banggood price is $264.19
        Net Geekbuying price is $290.71

Net difference between Banggood and Geekbuying is $26.52

Banggood delivery is via EMS 7 - 25 days from warehouse despatch date
Geekbuying delivery is via TNT 5 - 7 days from warehouse despatch date

Highly unlikely that any buyer for the silver colour will get their phones by early Jan 2016. And realistically, based on the delivery time frames, it's only approx 12 days difference. ie. Banggood receives stock 6 days earlier than Geekbuying, so 25 days - 6 days = 19 days max by EMS (versus Geekbuying 7 days max)

I am not against this Geekbuying offer, just asking if Geekbuying can better its own deal listed here.

        • +1

It's better to base it off USD rather than AUD as it won't fluctuate and the final amount depends on payment method. Paypal in AUD/USD, credit cards with and without currency conversion fees etc.

I was referring to the grey model though, not the silver that arrives later. Cashrewards will not work most of the time if the coupon is not listed on the website too.

The best I can currently do is $203.99 USD with the coupon **redminote3* I will probably be able to do a better deal early next year once stock has arrived.

        • @Clear:
Tried this. Added phone in Cart -> $281, the applied coupon redminote3 -> cart become as below.
          Order Subtotal: AUD 295.92
          Coupon Amount: -AUD 8.46
          Grand Total: AUD 287.46

So after applying coupon, price actually went north.

        • @pyramid: Correct. The coupon will only work on the silver or gold that is $209.99 US and not the already discounted $199 grey.

        • BG coupon not working anymore :(

  • Ordered grey for $282.

    • Me too, wonder who will get it first :D

  • +1

    Bought. Cheers OP!

    • No worries, hopefully they don't take to long to arrive with Christmas so close!

  • Has anyone got hold of this phone yet (from here or other suppliers)? how does it perform? specs look good and I am after a dual sim phone currently and this looks the business but would appreciate some opinions.

  • Silly question alert. This phone has 4g 1800mhz but not 850mhz, which Vodafone uses, will I be disadvantaged with the 850mhz missing? Thanks.

    • From what I've read on the Vodafone forums, 1800MHz will have greater coverage around the metro areas as it's their original 4G network. 850Mhz is the newer network and appears to be faster, but it's coverage isn't as wide.

I could be wrong as I use Telstra and Amaysim.

  • I've ordered one! Thanks Geekbuying!

  • +1

Who actually got the phone now? And when did you order?

    • Ordered on Nov 30, shipped on Dec 16, and received on Dec 21.

    • Mine arrived today,11/01/2016. Ordered 19/12/2015. so long wait time.

  • Order finally shipped. Ordered on 6th.

    • Yep mine too, ordered on the 4th. Does your tracking number work yet?

      • Nah mate

        • +1

Tracking number is active for me now, expected on the 4th.

  • Anyone's fingerprint detection working? Mine just arrived today and I can't get it to work…

    • When adding your fingerprint did you make sure to set up another method of unlocking the device, say a pattern or pin?

      • Yeah, I've already done that as well as any other possibilities I could think of, but still no luck.

    • Was yours sent via singpost? Ordered two, one of them was shipped on 31st but still no further tracking details.

      • +1

        It was sent via TNT.

      • TNT was a free option.

    • Can confirm working and extremely fast and accurate.

      • Hah, mine arrived with a malware laden rom and a non-functional fingerprint sensor.

        • Wow that sucks. Hope it gets sorted!

        • @spaghettiman: Yeah just have to flash a stock ROM with SP Flashtool :( Only have a mac so got to setup a VM for it.

        • Mine arrived today and it's only installed CM browser and etc… I am not sure whether I should flash to something else or just use it? Any ideas?
which rom should I use ?

        • might be a stupid question, but how do you actually know if it had malware on it? use some sort of app to scan it?

        • +1

@JxToF: You can use malwarebytes found on the play store.

        • @AusNugz: I still hasn't flashed anything, should I use the scanner first?

        • @simonizmaster: I noticed a big performance increase overall after flashing the official Rom. Under settings and about phone what is listed under MIUI Version?

        • @AusNugz: It says MIUI 7.0Stable 7.0.19.0.0(LHNCNCJ)
I noticed that this phone does not have 'Australia' as a locale. Should I flash it to Global version??

        • @simonizmaster: That's not an official MIUI Rom as far as I can tell. They don't offer a global ROM as of yet, you will have to flash the stable fastboot rom using SP flashtool. Follow this guide http://en.miui.com/thread-193681-1-1.html

        • @AusNugz: So I cannot install this one ?
          http://en.miui.com/download-295.html
          I tried but failed.

        • @simonizmaster: The thread linked provides full details and download links.

        • @AusNugz: I am too old for that stuffs now.. Is there simpler way to flash this phone?

        • @simonizmaster: Unfortunately no. This is the easiest way so far.

        • @AusNugz: I finally did the rom install, the phone works fine, however I can not get the playstore and gmail to work properly. And also many Chinese apps. I am wondering if I should do another rom install with global version.

  • so whats the best deal for redmi note 3 on geekbuying now?

  • Thanks Clear, and what about promotions on gold and silver? if i order it tomorrow when can i expect to receive it in melbourne?

    • No promotions on the others currently. Processing can typically take up to a week and TNT shipping which is currently free has 3-5 days delivery. On average it should arrive under a week.

  • damn…just when i almost reach to a decision to buy,… xiaomi launches a SD650 version of redmi note 3 with better camera. will geekbuying be selling these? when? what price? :)

    • I'll find out.

  • Ordered on the 11th Dec and only picked standard shipping. still waiting,
anyone else accidentally didn't pick TNT? and still waiting?

    • can't seem to edit post. Received the phone. =D finally.
