Finally, a high quality restaurant deal from livingsocial. Something for a special occasion.

Glass Brasserie is a one-hatted restaurant with a score of 15/20, headed by Luke Mangan at the Hilton Sydney.

The deal is for two people, includes an entree and main dish each, chosen from a reduced menu (selected items from their full menu) and a signature cocktail, house wine, beer or mineral water each. The value of $192 is not exaggerated if you pick the most expensive things off the menu - entree is up to $30, mains up to $48, and a cocktail is $18. The deal is valid for Monday to Thursday for lunch from 12:00pm-3:00pm and Sunday to Thursday for dinner from 6pm onwards.

I've dined there once on a similar deal and the food was great and cocktails were awesome. But if you don't like fine dining in general, then this isn't for you.

Here's the menu for this deal (though it says subject to change)

Entree

  • Kingfish sashimi with ginger, eschallot and Persian feta
  • Crisp zucchini flower with goat's cheese, corn, tomato relish and salsa verde
  • Chicken liver parfait with peach jelly, salad and grilled bread

Main

  • Jack's Creek NSW 150 day grain-fed sirloin 250g with hand cut chips
  • Fish of the Day
  • Pan fried potato gnocchi with corn, asparagus, zucchini, Parmesan and lemon thyme
  • Braised beef cheek with prawns in brik pastry, pumpkin, cavolo nero and hazelnut granola

Beverages

  • Sonia’s Pink Martini Grapefruit infused Belvedere vodka, lychee liqueur, pink grapefruit juice and fresh lychee
  • Gringo Mojito Fresh mint, lime juice and raspberries, muddled, then topped with Jack Daniel’s, Chambord and a dash of ginger beer
  • Aperol Spritz Aperol, Prosecco and soda water
  • Premium House White Wine
  • Premium House Red Wine
  • Premium House Beer

If you want dessert with your meal, that will set you back another $15-20pp, but their desserts were great too.

Offer valid from 13 January 2016 and expires on 01 March 2016. Bookings can be made from 10 January 2016
Bookings are absolutely essential and subject to availability. Bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance

Is this really that special compared to the other discounted meals on other group buying websites?

    • Most meal deals are from low quality or newly opened restaurants, and you rarely see deals from chef-hatted restaurants.

      • It's a mix. Not all low quality. Dragoncello is on there, so is swissotel.

        Glass Brasserie is nothing outstanding.
