    what a crap VPN company,

    "Virtually unlimited traffic"

hidden in ToS: Monthly bandwidth transfer allowed is 2TBs (2000 GBs).

    • +1

      You'd actually use up 2TB? :P
My cap is 300GB so I think I'd be fine.

good for you. a shady as hell Romanian company advertising "pretty much unlimited" and then hiding the actual limits in their ToS is no good

good luck using them and putting up with their huge latency, however

        • You're a little passive aggressive aren't you?

        • "….then hiding the actual limits in their ToS is no good"

They've also "hidden" that information in their FAQ.

      • +1

and that makes dodgy advertising A-Okay i guess in your books…

        • Where did I say that? I just said that a 2TB limit wouldn't affect me. And for the record I wasn't one of the people who negged Makoto.

    • WTF, why are you being negged for highlighting this fact! +1 from me

  • Link to TOS (terms of service) - scroll down to "Bandwidth Usage" section:

And for the record I wasn't one of the people who negged Makoto.

I was - based on the silly first line of his comment.

I have used VPN.AC, and found them to be one of the better, and economical VPNs around. One of their attractions is that their Oz based servers allow access the ABC iView and SBS On Demand - which many others don't when you are overseas.

Makoto - what is your experience with using VPN.AC?

  • I've used VPN.ac for the past 6 months. Good thing this deal came as my plan just expired.

Good speeds and they have servers in Hong Kong (Australia as well). They are based in Romania, which is perhaps better if you're paranoid about government surveillance and/or copyright. Bitcoin is accepted. Simple software.

They do keep connection logs (i.e. IP address) for a day though, and going by their interview they seem inexperienced when it comes to dealing with legal claims. They also don't directly oversee/control the servers outside of Romania, but most VPN companies probably do this anyway. I figure it's better going with a company that appears honest than something shady that looks too good to be true like Cryptostorm.

  • Thanks - I just added another year to my plan with them!

I have been using VPN.ac for a year now after trying out a bunch of other VPN's and they were by far the fastest and most reliable. Customer Service is very good too. I did some research before even trying out VPN.ac and decided to give them a go based on the good reviews.

By the way, the 45% discount is a Lifetime discount (not just a one off).

  • "There is also a 1 week trial plan for $1.10 USD (after discount), see FAQ page"

It does say this in the FAQ but it doesn't work in the cart. Says "The promotion code you entered has been applied to your cart but no items qualify for the discount yet - please check the promotion terms".

    • I got the same thing, DEC15OFF seems to work for 15% off.
