All westfields? Or just the one in your link??

edit: just looked at Tea Tree Plaza SA and it's on plus a whole bunch of other offers, woohoo! https://www.westfield.com.au/teatreeplaza/deals

  • It looks like all Westfield.

  • +10

wow good promo when you pay with amex!
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/223063

    • +21

      Came here to post that.

If you spend $62.50 you'll be charged $50 and then get $20 back via Amex - so $32.50 all up (a 48% discount, which obviously decreases the more you go over $62.50). Still, at $100 it still works out to be a 40% discount, which isn't too bad. And at $150 it's a 33% discount.

      • +1

Thank you for the price points needed to get the most out of this

      • +1

Can I buy a few $50 gift cards and use these to pay to keep 48% discount? Got 5 amex cards to use here.

        • Op says it excludes gift cards

        • +5

          @akira276:

I mean buying 3x $50 and get 3x $20 from Amex. Then I will have $150 worth of gift card and use them to pay for stuff at 20% discount.

        • @akira276: I read that as excluding purchasing gift cards and getting 20% off. But you could purchase gift cards with Amex (get cashback) then purchase goods with gift cards (get 20% off)

        • @deeevan: Ohh I gotcha, fair enough =)

        • @deeevan: does the American Express cashback activate with gift cards?

        • -1

@50cent: Amex offer EXCLUDES gift cards.

        • @drooberius:But as many of us have experienced (myself included), we get the Amex cash back even when we buy Gift Cards. We just get nervous when we do it.

        • @danielh: Out of curiosity, can you please share which stores' gift cards have also given Amex cash?

I wonder if there is a flaw in their system that can be exploited. :)
e.g. how the store categorises a "gift card" purchase; or whether online vs. in-store is different…

        • +1

@rajg: The most recent example is the David Jones deal. Spend $200 online with AmEx and get $40 back. It is still on.

Other past deals are the Liquour land and Dan murphy ones (basically spend $50 and get $10 cash back) etc. I got those physically at the store.

        • @danielh: That's great to hear! Thank you so much.
(I was literally reading the DJs deal's T&Cs - where it says gift cards are not eligible - when I came back and refreshed this page.)

        • +1

@rajg: I have purchased 2 x $200 DAVID JONES gift cards in the last 2 weeks and can confirm I got the $40 credit for both. I also bought two small items to negate the $5 delivery fees.

      • 52% discount on $62.50. (Spend $30, save $32.50)

        • How do I sign up for this deal?

  • Any particularly good deals??

  • Not a bad deal, can get someone I know fan gear cheaply now.

  • Does 'any other offer' include sales items?

  • Hope it's guaranteed all Westfield.. Don't want to make the trip for nothing!

    • +2

Give them a call before you go.

      • Just search 'westfield <centre name> deals' in google and there is a link on their website it seems.

      • +4

How dare you use logic on me!

  • Use AMEX offer for $50 ONLY. Any remaining amount better pay with Gift Card. You can get Rebel Gift Card from Woolie with 5%-off Wish egift card.
And for those still have the Westfield Gift card from last Woolworth Gift Card Sale, now is a good time to use them.

    • +1

Not if you have more than one Rebel gift cards.

    • So are you saying to buy a woolworths egift card via cash rewards to get 5% off and then use that egift card to buy rebel sports gift cards from woolies?

      • Correct. This is how the world is functioning.

  • +5

    Just checked VICTORIA:
Available in every Westfield except Southland and Geelong.

    Available at:
    Airport West
    Doncaster
    Fountain Gate
    Knox
    Plenty Valley

  • Whats the chance this will be all Rebels? Been chasing a discount on an exclusive item for Xmas, but the local Westfield Rebel doesn't stock the exact one.

    • And on top of that, does anyone know if this will be available at Rebel stores NOT in a Westfield (eg: Sydney CBD ones)?

      • 197 Pitt St, Shop L02 52/53, Mid City Centre Westfield Sydney, Sydney NSW 2000

This one is in Syney CBD Westfield. They have a big Nike soccer football section !

        • +1

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Mid City is considered part of Westfield. Their map directories do not overlap and Rebel is strictly listed on the Mid City site but not on the Westfield Sydney one.

        • +3

@divineiniquity: Just to be safe, I call them and they confirm they are part of this Westfield Rebel offer. Enjoys.

        • +1

          @coprocessor8087: Thanks for your effort!

  • +3

Looks like it's available at Westfield Marion SA

  • +4

I just called a Rebel store in Rouse Hill which is not in Westfield, the staff said They Can't tell What Kind of Sale but You will get an email on Friday if you are a member. So looks like all Rebel Stores and Register Free membership online if you haven't done so. I will try to get Gift Cards via AMEX today and may e layby stuff you want and pick it up on Sat.

The Staff said lots of Bargain… sound more than just 20%…

    • Thanks, will be very good if it's all stores.

    • That's fantastic if so.

The Rebel closest to me is in a Centre which just recently gave up the Westfield affiliation, so hopefully I'll be able to get 20% off some dumbbells.

  • +6

Just checked with Rebel at Macquarie. Looks like 20% off at all Rebel store this Saturday.

    • Yep, just put my item on hold there.

  • Going to get 2x Garmin Vivosmart HR (http://www.rebelsport.com.au/Product/Garmin-Vivosmart-HR-Fit…) from there with 3x Amex cards for the 60$ off plus 20% discount.

    2x229 = 458. 458 x 0.8 = 366.4

    366.4 - 60 = 306.4 for 2

Not bad. Get first full price and second for 77.40$ !

    • +1

Or if you have multiple AmEx cards between you and your family you can put $62.50 per card to try to maximise the deal. With purchasing two of the $229 units you will need at least 7 cards with the 7th carrying the extra.

Total cost will be (assuming 7 AmEx cards and after discounts and cash backs):
      Normal Price: $229 x 2 = $458
      Less 20% discount = 366.40
Less the $20 back per $50 spent on multiple AmEx Cards (7 cards is $140 back) = 366.40 - 140.00
      = $226.40 for two

Hmmm. This is more then 50% discount. I would have thought itmaxed out at 48% based on a previous post. Whatever the case you can get a pretty good deal if you have the AmEx cards in your family to spend on it.

  • Anyone checked with Cannington (Carousel, WA) ?

    • +1

      read the second comment.

  • Amex reached 15,000 limit .. No more registration

      • Yup. Confirmed. I tried too and it was maxed out.

    • damn that sucks

    • thanks for letting me know hommie

    • as long as you registered the offer with AMEX, you can still use it on Saturday?

  • I don't have Amex, so went down to Woolworths to get $100 worth of gift cards, and it scanned as $95, apparently there is a 5% off gift card special. I paid for it with 5% off woolies egiftcard, so essentially it's 20% off the item, then 5% off that, then 5% off that = 27.8% discount.

    • Oh really? Must have just been your state?

Im in WA and just bought a dick smith gift card 2 hours ago and no 5% off special.. did use an egiftcard though!

    • What giftcards did you buy?
I don't have Amex either so would love any other deals to add.

      • Went to Woolworths, bought $50 Rebel cards, scanned a -$2.50 per card something like GC 5% offer as the description.

        • Awesome,
So is this a current deal running as I can't seem to find it?

        • @dan76n:

I was so surprised it came up that I asked the roaming checkout assistant, and they said they knew nothing about it. This was Chatswood Woolies. Not sure if it's other gift cards, the item comes up with the description "GC SUPER RETAIL GRO", and was -$5 for 2x $50 cards.

BTW, don't plan on buying cards tomorrow, Rebel cards get credit in an overnight process, got burned by this once before.

    • yeah mate..what is this 5% off giftcards at woolies that you speak of?
      Eastern states only thing?

  • how does Amex cashback work? I have a velocity platinum Amex. where do I find out more? definitely keen, tho rebels range sucks most of the time.

I'm finally looking into cashrewards too, too much to keep up to date with!

  • Need to buy new footy boots (looking at the Asics Tigreor) so reckon this 20% off is as good as its going to get? ($160 - 20% = $128)

Was originally waiting for potential post-Christmas sales, anyone if rebel usually does another (better?) sale then?

    Cheers in advance!

  • I want to get Skins compression… Can.t find any cheap options local or overseas so may be 20% Rebel would save few $

  • +2

Not sure if this will help anyone, but I got rebel to match wiggle.com.au on the nike lunarglide 7 mens at $128.18 (they would only match, not beat due to not being a bricks n mortar store), then paid with amex for the $20 statement credit for a final total of $108.18. RRP $200 and these shoes generally don't go on sale until end of line clearance. better deal than the upcoming 20% off on saturday.

    • Thanks Deevo… Gor the skin tights $140 down to 80 and top down from $90 to $59. She said this price match is batter than tomorrow 20%. It took a while tho when I called, she log on to her PC, check stocks available on wiggle, check her stocks then agreed..

  • Bleh the amex rebel offer has finished or has been used up. Really wish i registered it earlier.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/223063

    • +2

Yes. With these kinds of AMEX deals, it is always 'Save to the card first before asking any questions'. I learnt this last time when I missed the Hardly Normal one.

  • Where do I generally find these AMEX DEALS?

    Thank you!

P.S. Rebel normally do 30% off STORE WIDE end of the year. They did this last year.

    :)

    • P.S. Rebel normally do 30% off STORE WIDE end of the year. They did this last year.

I've never seen that. Why didn't you post it?

  • When I got rebel gift card with Amex, I didn.t get amex email confirming my purchasr but when i paid for merchandise with amex works and got an email saying $20 reward…

So beaware guys.. Rebel gift card is not part of Amex $20 promotion

    • I received Amex email instantly after I ordered $50 physical gift card online.

      • I bought the card in store.

    • Bought 2 Rebel Gift Cards in store (with two Amex cards) Got $20 e-mail straight away for both :)

    • I purchased a $50.00 Rebel gift card last Friday with Amex and didn't receive any confirmation reward email. Happy to say the $20.00 Rebel Amex credit from that store appeared in my account dated Sunday (and still no email received). I also made a $60.00 merchandise purchase with a different Amex on Saturday and again no confirmation email, but guessing (hoping) credit will appear today. Seems there's some inconsistencies with confirmation emails.

  • Rebelsport.com.au being ozbargained? Can't get through.
Edit: Does rebel online offer free shipping at all?

    • A bit belatedly, they are, today for purchases over $100.

      • Thanks. They also did it sometime after the 20% off event. I didn't go online order though.
