      • I was going to get it as a present for Xmas, the person plays only Sim games so I want it to play current sim and future sim games :P

  • casual games should be fine. do not set on high.

What is the battery life like for these? Any one who has this already can help?

  • I bought two of these in the last deal for my parents. I set them up with an SSD as the standard drive is woefully slow. A bit plastic-y for my tastes with some keyboard flex, but for two retirees who only use the internet and sync their phones it's a great buy if you consider the normal cost of a laptop with a 1080p screen. I highly recommend it.

  • Does anyone know if this laptop comes with a spare RAM slot and what the total expandable memory is?

  • Can you change the WIFI chip in this? What would you change it to?
(I just purchased a TP link Archer D9), which has the AC wifi band.

Edit: Nevermind, it does have the AC band.

  • Bought it last week. All is as it seems, nice system. Not overly keen on the built in track-pad/mouse, but that's a personal thing perhaps

    • Hey MagicWhip,

can you confirm whether the screen folds around?

      Cheers,

      Michael

      • It does not fold around.

    The screen is 1920 x 1080?

  • Bought this when it was posted three weeks ago, and the order is still 'in process'. Anyone else happen to have this problem, or similar experience with the MS website?

The Customer Service hotline has been useless, and no one can tell me where it is.

    • Yes same thing happened to me from first sale. The rep said there were a lot of sales that day that this happened to also. In the end they cancelled the original order and put a new one through, but they still had to baby that order through as well apparently. They should give you a small discount for inconvenience as well.

      • Ah cool, thanks for the reply, much appreciated.

  • I don't know where Microsoft got the Intel HD 6000 from but according to Intel's website the 5200U only has a integrated HD 5500. Just something to think about, I haven't done much further research on this. Otherwise this is a good price for what you get.

  • Looking to purchase a decently specced laptop just for general use and was deciding between this one and an Acer aspire v3-572g-78n8 at DSE for $699. Doesnt seem to be on the Dick Smith site but its advertised in store.

The Acer has an i7-5500u processor but is not FHD and not touch screen (not too concerned about that though)

    Any recommendations?

To sweeten the DSE deal obviously i can get the coles 10% extra value on Dick Smith gift cards making it just over $630 or so for the Acer vs $699 for the Dell.

  • Question… can't work out if the screen on this model folds around?

    Thanks,

    Mike

    • No it doesn't mate, just standard laptop fare.

  • Ordered it on the 7/12 like everybody and I have received notification today for delivery on the 10/12. It's not bad at all.

  • Guys, just wondering if anyone else have received this laptop. I noticed gap between mys LCD and panel on 2 sides. is it same with your laptops or mine have defect only?

  • Anyone know if you can enable edge scrolling?
