      • Apologies mate but these games will be going to my nephews interstate for xmas. Don't think I'll be getting any of this haul from them.

        • Ah ok no problem at all :) Thanks anyway, though! If by any chance your nephews aren't interested in some of the cartoony Japanese games, hit me up haha.

    • Why your borderland 2 only has 1 cd?
      supposedly it has 2 cd's
first cd with yellow cover for game cd itself
and the other cd with blue cover is the add-on content disc

    Are they stickering stock now?

Why is there inconsistencies store to store?

    • Simply because people are getting to the games faster than the staff can sticker the stuff.

  • Popped into Prahran JB. Pretty much empty with only junk titles left. Don't waste your time like I did.

  • anyone know which store in sydney still has some decent games?

    • Caringbah may have a few left. Got 8 PS3 titles from there yesterday for $1 each.

      • thanks mate, bit far tho…

  • Still found a few titles not on the list, which I think was just stock at that store.

    • Go to stores that have been opened for a few years - new stores wont have old stock
    • Price labels all are dated, pretty much anything 2013 or earlier seems to scan at $1, most have previous markdowns, e.g. $15 or $10

Good luck, Got a copy of Street Fighter IV for 360 this morning.

Please all don't waste your time and efforts now Jbhifi officially pulled back there damn cheap sale now they are fulfilling online order requests with the remaining stock….

    • where did u heard that from? and i think most ppl already got their orders cancelled/refunded anyway…

      • Basicallyou everyone has had there orders cancelled

        • tats what I mean, so what orders have they got to fulfill now??! Most of them have already been cancelled!!

        • @homersyd: I have no clue whato this guy is on about

        • @JezzaC96: haha same here

  • Everyone whose orders are cancelled they are gone any pending orders they will fulfill as per there sale person comment. They never thought sale will be that popular so now they will bring this sale back if any stock left during Christmas but for now sit tight even my order was cancelled too but no regret as I got my games in store but any pending order they will have a good chance to get their games delivered…..

Over the top response from jb hi on this botched sale.

It should never have been posted online but its low stock positions on clearance have not previously seen a sale stopped and so much instore stock frozen.

While many have been posting hysterically about legal action and contracts the biggest offender on Ozbargain remains Dick Smith.

Not seen many jbhif ads but plenty of dick smith ads here. All sales are posted etc etc, and dick smith every week reneges on contracts, lies about stock and treats customers like dirt.

You can't sell a busines without goodwill in the marketplace, and Dick Smith have got virtually none. The behaviour by staff in the latest clearance where stock has been withdrawn from sale until friends and family came to pick up is normal. According to many here thats fine - I've stood in a shop watching stuff being sold that I was told the day before was not in stock and asked how that could happen. Just laughed at me because they can.
Dick Smith have encouraged staff dishonesty through dodgy sales and now the staff are doing their own thing trying to pretend its ok . Would you hire people who routinely lie to customers faces? I will not buy from stores that have known liars on there payroll if I have a choice. Companies who want to hire Dick Smith cheats do so at their own peril.

Jb hifi are commended on trying to make good on a ludicrous online sale but everything is relative - jb hifi are nothing like Dick Smith, and the response to stop the store sale has done very little to help jb staff or people looking for cheap games for Christmas.

Thats my opinion and because no-one likes any truth, or anything to do with personal responsibility this post will be negged out of sight within minutes. Enjoy entropy.

Jb are a bunch of c**ts regardless of botched sale or not.
Just as rotten as Dick Smith.

  • Just bought God of War 3 from West Lakes SA. So much for cancelling the online orders for having no stock when you can still buy it in store today.

  • I just want Ultra SF4 on PS3. :'(

  • Got for $1 at Ipswich JB Hifi - Xcom, ninja Gaiden 3, NG Yaiba, NBA 13 whatever, GOW3, darksiders 2 and Max Payne 3 (which I didn't see listed anywhere but it was $1 in the shop). Lady who served me was cool about it. She had to call up someone else from games because a game disc was missing and he told her there had been a big mistake made high up. Me turning up was the first they'd heard of the games being so cheap.

    • i was told by another that the employee had been informed by her manager that it was a Stuff up by Head office and not supposed to be till January

and also as per JB HiFI Terms and Condition no one is allowed to buy more than 3 copies of any item

  • i have yet to received all the games I ordered, the games I got are the ones posted from nearby JB stores.

  • Sale's over…

Visited my local today to see if there was anything left. Whole PS3/Xbox 360 sections were quite barren.

Pre-owned games are all sitting around like a sore thumb though.

    • Heard today that they've been told to put stock out the back.

      • yep heard the same. told to hold the stock until after xmas

    • Yep, after a tip off that there were cheap games aplenty yesterday in the Parramatta area, I took a ride out there today.
Xbox 360: I managed one $1 game in each of Parramatta George Street and Merrylands (Eider Scrolls IV and Tom Clancy's Rainbox Six Vegas2 - both in boxes without covers). I also got Bioshock Infinite for $5 at Merrylands, but left Dead Souls 2 at $5. They had Battlefield 3 Premium Edtn ($1) case but couldn't find the disc so offered me Battlefield 3 which was $5.
At Westfield Parramatta I asked for a price check on two Dead Island games - Riptide and GOTY. The first was $10, the second came up at $1 but the sales assistant at the little desk next to the games said he couldn't sell it to me at that price, but I could have it for $29! If only I'd taken them straight to the checkout.

I saw a memo on the computer screen about withdrawing Xbox 360 and PS3 games due to a pricing error.

  • I have an extra copy of DMC: Devil May Cry and Fable: The Journey for Xbox 360 that I would like to trade. Looking for Dead or Alive 5 or Dishonored.Or if you have any other games feel free to suggest them.

  • Delivered. Very happy with it all. Seem like all are new although none had the original PS3 plastic or any plastic at all. Obviously been opened and the disc removed for display. All seem to be display ones too with JB stickers all over them. Still, happy as.

  • After ordering on Tuesday night I get an email today saying my order of two games was cancelled. During the week I'm away from home and there isn't a JB within 300km, so was really hoping the delivery would come through. Oh well, maybe next time.

  • Dropped in to my local JB and one of the staff members told me head office had instructed them to put all PS3 and X360 games out back because they will now be on sale on Boxing Day. Might be worth a look then if you're brave enough to battle the hordes.

    • All PS3 and 360 games or just the ones on clearance?

      • Just the $1 titles, I think.
I was refused the sale of one left on the shelf at Westfield Parramatta yesterday, but was offered it for $29.
Another game I had taken to the counter was a sale item at $10 which didn't seem to be a problem, but I only wanted it in conjunction with the first game so didn't pursue it.

Having said that, I didn't see any sale titles on the shelf at Moore Park today, whether $1 or $20.

But the games that weren't part of the alleged "pricing error" are still on the shelves.

I don't understand the logic of withdrawing items from sale to sell them at a later date at the same price. Isn't it less likely there will be as much demand for the old-gen games after Christmas? If there isn't a price difference factor, isn't it normal to try to sell as many units as soon as you can.
I could understand it if they were simply withdrawing them to correct the price and put them back on sale ASAP, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

        • Probably to get people in the store to buy their other "boxing day deals". Honestly I feel bad for the staff who have to find $1 games under the counter while dealing with the chaos that boxing day always brings.

        • @Yuri Lowell: You're probably right, Yuri.
But I wouldn't have thought people lured in to buy $1 old-gen games would be the same class of customer expected to spend several hundred dollars on a tv or fridge, for example. Especially considering they haven't splashed out on a new-gen console despite all the current promotions.

        • @Yuri Lowell:

Why would you feel sorry for them? They get paid to do this shit

        • +1

@first in line: correction: they get shit pay to do this shit ;P

        • @homersyd: They will most likely put all the games in the cases and do there rediculous amount of wrapping on them to make it easier for staff

    • looks like no games on sale at jb on boxing day :/

      • I was in a branch at 8.30am. The company have some of the $1 titles scattered around various stores, but they reissued the memo not to put that stock on sale!
I'm getting frustrated now 'cos I've been refused the sale of one of those games three times now.
        "Pricing error," they keep saying.
I'd pay you $5 or $10 for it then, just correct the price!

Unfortunately I'm going where there aren't any JBH stores soon, so I'm resigned to never getting any of these games.

  • Is there proof that they have withdrawn all the games? Cheers guys!

    • i dont think you're gonna get a written letter from JB…lol
I can confirm from speaking to my local JB and they told me it's all withdrawn until after xmas…for the same prices

    • Looks like they have.

  • I bought a copy of xcom enemy unknown for $1. Already had it at home (couldn't remember if i had it or not).
Anyone in adelaide up for a swap?

  • Yeah they were all withdrawn for me :(

  • +2

Hell of a lot of titles just got dumped on ebay. Pretty low for people to buy up games and then try to make a quick profit. They haven't even bothered to take off the JB Hifi stickers.

    • +1

even if the stickers are taken off, you can still tell they were from JB by the game titles.

    • -1

They are doing people like me a service. The JBs near me had very little stock. Others who didn't know about the sale or who can't physically get to stores also benefit.

They are smart to buy something that has a higher value to different purchasers, and match those purchasers with the product.

      • Dude JB had $1 postage for every game that was in the $1 sale. So essentially the games were $2 delivered from JB, instead of the $10+ from ebay scalpers.

I don't care that much, but I do think it's a little uncool to buy up games you have no intention of keeping. Some kids probably really wanted them and missed out due to those people.

        • -1

That's the online sale. This is the thread for the instore sale. I missed the online sale completely.

In any case I'd feel the same way about people who did it online. Not everyone would have been aware of that deal. If they create a wider audience and take a profit then good for them and good for the people who purchased. I see no reason why they are any less worthy of the profit than JB.

You may feel bad for the kids who didn't get the $1 game. If they had've gotten it, I would have felt bad for the kid who didn't get the $10 game and had to pay $20-30. It's all relative. There's always people who get the deal and people who miss out. Knowing the source of the cheapness doesn't make you any more morally legitimate.

  • Plenty of the $5 and $10 PS3 games on the lists at JB hifi Artarmon still.
If you can pretend there were never any $1 games, then these are real good bargains. I couldn't though, so didn't buy any.

Anyone able to use the coupon they were given for cancelled orders? Mine says on the website that its expired :(

    • I used it in store, I showed the email regarding the coupon and they were okay with it.

  • so have said prices returned in anyway ?

    • Most of the clearance titles have been turned into preowned games (they were originally suppose to, atleast the $1 ones, the $1 was suppose to mark the stock for the staff to identify which stock to pull, but the prices got leaked so they let the "sale" continue for a day or 2 and pulled the remainder stock from the shelves)

      • So are you saying the pre-owned games are now $1 & $5 ?

And are you saying JB Hi-fi used $1 to denote games to be removed from sale (no wonder there was confusion!)? Why would they remove them from sale at all though?

        • Thats the thing, it wasnt a sale, it was just stock being repriced, the $1 games are now standard Preowned prices ($5-$20), only the $5+ games were suppose to really be priced as such, its not unusual to mark stock with the price in the system, we use a similar system at EB when I worked there, discounts and promotional information is contained after the decimal depending on the number.

Edit, from what I was told they were suppose to be removed from the online store aswell, which is what lead to jb honoring the prices
