Staub Cast-Iron Perfect Pan $160 (Was $200) + Free Shipping @ Williams Sonoma

30

Staub's do-it-all pan lives up to its name, providing the ultimate cooking vessel for an impressive variety of favorite foods. Making a beautiful transition from the stovetop or oven to your dining table, this ultra-versatile pan is great for everything from slow-simmering soups, stews and chili to braising meats, poultry and vegetables. Or use it without the lid for stir-frying, deep-frying, sautéing or baking casseroles.

  • Glossy multi-coat enameling ensures strength and heat resistance and creates a vibrantly colored “majolique” finish similar in appearance to fine ceramic for oven-to-table presentation.
  • Resistant to rust, chipping and cracking, the coating requires no additional seasoning like some other cast-iron pieces.
  • The specially formulated black matte interior enamel of each piece contains traces of quartz, giving it additional heat resistance and a rougher surface resulting in better browning.
  • The smooth enameled base is compatible with all cooktops including induction.
  • Heavy glass lid lets you monitor cooking—and seals in moisture for tender, flavorful results.
  • Lid knob is made of nickel-plated brass.
  • Includes wooden cooking chopsticks, curved wooden spatula and a half-moon-shaped stainless-steel rack.
  • Made in France.

  • Does anyone know anything about these? Looks impressive but not sure if 20% off is a good enough deal to go with. Also I wonder how safe the coating is. Can someone not in the business fill me in?

    • cast iron is good in retaining heat. I think they were cheaper last time for $120, but this price is ok.
with the coating, just be careful not to have big flame( works better with medium flame) or wash with cold water when it's still hot. And I am not sure if you can put this into dish washer. It takes longer to heat up, but after that it retain heats longer hence energy saving where you can turn the flame off and it's still continue to cooks.

I do like Lodge as Daleyboy79 below mentioned. with Lodge you can abuse it whatever you like cause there isn't any coating on it. Only thing is , you have to season it after use .

  • Just go raw cast iron … much better imo.
Im a fan of the 'Lodge' range

  • I got a STAUB casserole pot at the Harvey Norman outlet place for a good price because they were, effectively, throwing them out. I alternate the STAUB with my Creuset. STAUB make really good casserole dishes.

  • Showing as $200 for me, maybe deal ended?
