630
CHRISTMAS10

THIS DEAL IS FOR SILVER! Couldn't fit that in title sorry.

Have been looking for an iPhone 6s for my fiancée as her Christmas gift for a while now. Was looking at a 64gb as 16 wasn't enough and the 128gb was just a bit out of reach. I checked the eBay deals section and there it was, 128gb for $1279 which is similar money to the 64gb. Add the 10% Christmas code for another $127.90 saving for a total saving of $227.90 on a Australian stocked iPhone from a top rated seller. So chuffed I had to share!

Bugger, probably could've used cash rewards as well. Got caught up in the bargain!

  • +1

Can we claim TRS on this ?

    • +2

      Yes, providing that

A tax invoice has the word ‘tax invoice’ on it and shows the business name and Australian Business Number (ABN) of the retailer, the purchase price including the GST and/or WET paid, a description of the goods and the date you purchased the goods. For tax invoices over $1,000, the tax invoice must also show your name and address.

      • Good info. If I purchase with my credit card, but put it under the mrs name can the she claim it back when she goes overseas or does it need to be her own card?

        • Card doesn't matter.

        • As long as she takes the phone with her and has it in her carry on so it can be produced, with the invoice, at the TRS desk in the airport.

  • +1

We provide GST tax invoices for all purchases.

    • +1

No matter where I purchase from? 😀

    • We? Are you a rep for the store? If so you should check the box in the reply button!

  • Is there any chance I can get this in Rose Gold?

  • Check out mobileciti_estore on ebay (OZ seller with OZ stock). I picked up the 16gb for just under 770 (3% cash back, 10% ebay & 10% TRS). Yes GST receipt included with the phone purchase.

    • they selling 16GB IPHONE6S for $1005.80. How did you get under $770?

      • +1

1005.80 with 23%discount will end up around 770

        • How do you get 23% off

        • @taotao007: as its written above

        • @ozy: "10% TRS" means nothing. What do I do?

        • +2

@taotao007: So I finally found out what TRS is and it seems like you need to be flying out of Australia to use it.

      • mobileciti_estore sells the 16gb for 995.

        • Just for grey colour.

        • +3

@taotao007: Does the colour really matter? Chuck a rose case on and call it a day mate.

        • +1

          @deezenuts: screen colour is different.

    • do you reckon if you use trs and its over 1000 don't we need to put our name/address on the invoice? how would you do that for eBay?

      • I called mobileciti_estore they said a tax receipt would be issued. Since the phone was under $1000 no probs my end. Give them a ring to find out if they will include your name/address on the invoice. Friendly staff. (no i'm not associated with them in anyway, shape or form)

  • Going to pick up a 16GB and self upgrade to 128GB, save the money….

  • +1

Bought from these guys before. Fast postage and good packaging.

    • Yes I bought rose gold gold 128gb from them yesterday and it was shipped in couple of hours. I bought it for $1299 but they have raised the price to $1379 now

      • Managed to get the 128GB Rose Gold for $1299 last night too before they put up the price.
Worked out to be $1130 if Cashrewards worked properly too.

        • Yes still waiting for cash rewards email too

  • +7

Is it just me that can't understand why you would want to spend more than $500 on a phone?

I really only use mine for calls, SMS/MMS, facebook, very minor browsing (ozbargain mainly, or price checking in stores) and AFL live during footy season. I'm pretty sure the $30 specials available can do this, so the fact I spent a few hundred on mine for a nicer screen and a better camera seems justified, but spending a whole $1,000 more?

What are all you people actually doing that justifies a phone that costs this much?

Oh and for those that challenge the quality and resale value of the $30 phones, I got 4 for my kids last year and they are still working like new. I'm also pretty sure they've held their value.

    • +9

I'm sorry, but if you're not flashing around an Apple logo every time you get your phone out of your pocket, what good is it???

    • +2

      .. can't understand ..

Different strokes for different folks, perhaps?

    • -1

I understand your point but have you realised that there are people out there that are so rich that they can spend for their rest of their lives with money the least of their concerns. These products cater for these people to standout from the crowd.

    • +1

I'm sure it's not just you but I can't stand people like you acting as if you're the wisest man in the world for not needing an expensive phone. Are you expecting to be given a pat on the back?
I'm sure there are people who question your choice of sports too. In case you haven't realised ,this is called individual preference. If you expect the world to have the same preference as you in everything, I'm sure you will live a very frustrating life.

Long story short, get off your high horse and do what you want with your money and pay less attention to what other people spend their money on

    • +3

Maybe because I use it for hours every day, I don't mind paying more for one that feels and works better.

      • Exactly this. I use my phone for business and pleasure and I need to be on it for hours. Why make my life more difficult, the speed and reliability of a top end phone pay for themselves in no time not to mention all the top end brands have a good resale that means I effectively am only paying $6-700 anyway.

    • Also you say $500 is alot for a phone. What if you made twice the amount you are on now. Would you still think that way?

      • +3

He/she doesn't have to make twice the amount think different.
Already willing to pay $1,000 for a Windows phone, but he comes into Apple iPhone thread to troll.
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/223927

I personally don't like anything that Apple sells and haven't used any of their products since the original iPod and iPhone 3GS, but I do find his hypocrisy rather amusing.

        • Didn't buy the 950XL, contemplated getting it for equivalent to ~$700 (considering 10% back in HN giftcards and ~$200 for the 200GB micro SD card).

I'm still not sold on Continuum.

My question here is asking people how they justify spending the $1,000+ they are parting with.

  • +10

Whenever there is an iPhone deal, there is always a myriad of comments on how expensive these phones are and how poor value they are. I get it, Apple products have a significant markup. That doesn't mean there isn't a large market out there. A lot of us just want to know if this is a good price for an iPhone and whether the seller is reliable, whether the product comes with Apple warranty, etc.

    • Good price for the product, not a good product for the price.

      Does that work?

      • +3

Nobody cares. We don't need people coming in here telling us they're soooo superior for owning an Android. It's not relevant to the deal.

        • +1

He own's an ultrabook not a phone as per his removed comments above

        • @sigh:
The ultrabook I was referring to is a gift. Of course I have a phone (Z3 Compact).

        • I hadn't said anything about Android???

How did you know I wasn't a Windows phone user? Oh wait, no one uses Windows phone…

  • +3

People also pay a premium for Android and Windows flagships. Paying over $1000 for a flagship is more common now since the Aussie dollar has continued to depreciate.

iPhones have always been expensive but also highly in demand. Demand and supply equates to them historically holding their values better than similarly priced Android and Windows phones.

Would be interesting to see how many people brought a $1000+ phone outright in comparison to going on contract.

    • Which Android handsets are over 1k at street prices though?

      • Sony Xperia Z5 premium probably fits the bill

  • -2

Wonderful… to use the code need au paypal account and be the email as ebay and linked. To make new paypal need confirmed credit card. To confirm credit card, need 3 business days.

(profanity) you to hell paypal. I give up…

  • +1

    Good deal OP
Even better to see the tears in the comments

    • Yet they want to be here.

  • listed price has gone up to $1369

  • expired

  • Was looking at their other iphones. Do they include international apple warranty?

  • Just a warning to those purchased- Ausluck is not an authorised apple reseller. You may not able to claim a warranty after one year.

    • It says 12 months warranty on their site, or is this one covered by Australian consumer law?

    • Does that mean they are a grey importer? I thought thread creator said it was Australian stock?

    • Ausluck quotes Australian part numbers. So are they legit or not as far as Australian warranty is concerned?

  • -2

do people really spend $1200 on a phone?
    blows my mind!

    • They do.

Lot of people earn $1200 in 2 working days after tax :-/

      • Yeah heaps of people are on $250k a year before tax!

      • Gina Rinehart earned $1200 in the amount of time it took me to type this comment

  • How come this has 12 month and the other deal had 24 month? how does that work?

edit: Seems like they would just be referencing Australian consumer law?

    • My thoughts exactly, Mobiciti quoted 24 months warranty so I bought from them

  • Thinkofus still has some in stock, but I like plus.
Just bought one 6s plus 128G from thinkofus for $1268 and bigw pickup. 1409-141=1268. Apple price is $1529.
if minus GST and 3% cashreward(based on 1409), final price would be $1098.
It is around $422 or 27.6% off

    • Apple iPhone 6s - 128GB $1134 Shipped @ Think Of Us eBay ($1260 before Code, $1379 @ Apple Store)

I made a forum post due to insufficient stock, their pricing is actually the cheapest we have seen on here for local stock.

      • Think of us had got many down vote for their reputation. I won't take a risk.

        • I would take a risk for so much discount.

        • @cminez: what reputation is that, can yo please share?

  • Anyone else having the problem that the phone hasn't been shipped yet?

    • +1

Mine was marked shipped yesterday and it arrived today all a-ok. I paid for express post, an extra $9.

      • Did u receieve tax invoice too? Is there a way to confirm if it is australian stock?

      • That's interesting because I just took the free shipping option and it was sent by express post too.
Maybe something to keep in mind for anyone looking to buy from here in the future.

  • +1

Mine was shipped yesterday and arrived today too.

    • Did u receieve tax invoice too? Is there a way to confirm if it is australian stock?

      • I didn't receive a tax invoice but like lokesh7 below I just emailed them to ask for it. Wait to see what happens.
I'll check the IMEI when I get home too.

        • I called them and they sent the tax invoice straight away

        • @lokesh7:
I just got my tax invoice now too. Took a couple of days from first messaging them but all good!

  • Mine arrived too. Did not get a Tax invoice though so have emailed them for it but I checked IMEI on apple website and its showing 1 year australia warranty and proof purchase ticked. Now just need Tax invoice for TRS claim
