Triton XT18 Multi-Tool & Combi Hammer Drill Twin Pack - 18V - Masters Instore - $99 (Save $200)

170

I found this a Masters in Rouse Hill. Looks like a good deal based on the price of the items individually.

I don't own any Triton tools yet, but they seem like pretty good quality. Anyone able to comment on their longevity?

The pack includes one battery and charger.

  • Dad bought a Triton workbench more than 30 years ago and it's still going strong. They're probably not built like that anymore, but it looks like these come with a 3 year warranty so if it lasts even that long, it's not too bad these days. If I didn't already have this stuff I'd give it a go.

    • Haha, i still hear how good the triton workbench is everytime i visit the folks.

    • Yeah, the old Triton stuff was solid. Their routers are some of the best you can get south of a thousand bucks, and the power saw is a workhorse.

Sadly, the new stuff they pump out is dodgy rebadged chinese crap.

  • Any store or just your state/store?

    • I am not sure. This was seen at Rouse Hill in NSW.

Also in Springfield Central Store, Brisbane.

Its listed in their latest catalog, so guess its nationwide

  • As mentioned in the OP, this only has one battery pack (of small 1.3 Ah capacity).

Also it's only a standard 3-5 hour charger, not a quick charger.

Not sure where the "save $200" comes from, but such a kit is not worth $299.

  • Triton went broke a long time ago so maybe someone purchased the name to use on their tools. The original triton was an Aus innovative company that did a lot of research on the products it sold. Not sure where it is at now.

  • Is it available online

  • I took a chance and grabbed this… drill seems well built and it took to drilling a 6mm hole in brick no worries

  • I just picked one up and they scanned a 10% off woolworths receipt for me,
    so price was $89.10,
    then add 5% off giftcards,
    price actually paid was $84.65

    • And I must admit it does feel comparable to other decent power tools I have owned (love the rubberised grip - much like my DeWalt in feel). The downside is definitely the small battery capacity and only 1 in the pack, but there are always options to get more later, or buy a better battery when this one dies in 2-3 years (I'm on my 3rd round of batteries with the DeWalt and replaced the brushes once - it's not got much left so this will be the replacement).

  • Went back to get another one today and the price has gone up (signs removed and price scans at $299). I said I heard it was $99 yesterday and they said yes it was a great price, and then offered to scan it for $99.

So if you ask nicely you can probably still get it - but officially it looks like this sale is over.

      FYI.

I went back to Rouse Hill shop today. They still had about 20 on the shelf. Last week they had three large piles. They still showed $99.
