  • hmm - the page you have linked is to the subscription page.

    Not your main page.

I think thats a tad sneaky.

    • It's also against the guidelines.

Update: Thank you for fixing the link

  • Tax not included ???? WT ?????

  • (Good luck with the site though… i like the concept…)

    • It's pretty much based on GroupOn.com so nothing new. There's also Spreets and Dealson in Australia with the same concept.

  • To Ouffer,

I'm from Victoria … If I were to visit the restaurant, it would be as a tourist having a meal or drinks.

What tax and gratuities might be involved in those scenarios?

    • +1

      GST and tips…

(I didn't think it was legal to not include GST in prices ????)

      • It doesn't say that GST won't be listed in prices, but wondering if this gets a little messy and complicated.

        Voucher is for $60.

Lets say you buy dinner and drinks etc for $66 including GST.

1/11th of the price is tax so, $6 has to be paid by means other than the voucher.

$60 can be paid for, using the voucher.

So you use up your voucher, which cost you $30, and pay $6 … end up paying $36 instead of $66 at the restaurant.

So … you only pay 50% of the voucher total possible value but the saving on the meal isn't quite 50%. (About 45.5%)

Probably the main question is if you would like to go have a meal and/or drinks there, to the value of the voucher.

  • no gst?
    i dont get it..

so your tellign me when its time to pay the bill u get hit with an extra 10%????

    someone please confirm

  • Still linked to the subscription page (i.e. 'someone' changed it back).

With respect to the restaurant, "Tax and gratuity not included" is a breach of the Tax Act. All published prices must be inclusive of GST. Work it out.

    • OP didn't change link. If you click the link again, it will bring you to the right page. It appears that it sets a cookie for Sydney after your first visit. Odd website quirk.

      • Well, that's odd. OK I take back the 'changed it back' comment. But the rest stands.

    • Agree with both points. Neg.

  • To the Sydneysiders, has anyone been to Mocean? :)

Can anyone recommed a nice seafood restaurant? For some reason, each of the Sydney restaurants I went to only had one fish dish and maybe a prawn dish … oh and calamari at most.

I'm guessing I picked the wrong restaurants :) I'm interested in trying maybe a crab pasta, moreton bay bugs or something like that, with a friend.
