  • Saw these at a couple of Brisbane stores last week too (West End & Salisbury) but didn't think they were deal worthy. Does anyone actually own one and care to comment on the quality etc.?

    • +1

Can't comment on it, but I'd guess that you're probably better off just buying a second hand bike from a garage sale or gumtree.

    • +2

Look at the price. Quality is going to be bog standard entry, entry level. Keep it undercover and lube regularly.
If you ride everyday don't get it. If you ride once a month for an hour and need one then get it.

I bought another Aldi bicycle about a year ago, an adult-sized mountain bike with suspension and disc brakes. It wasn't an awesome race-winning lightweight super machine or anything, but I think it was really very good value for money. Well built, good quality, cheaper than it probably should be.

LoL… I like how the box says "! DO NOT LAY FLAT !"

  • +1

They aren't bad, the fat tires make for a comfy ride. Definitely a bike for when you don't want to care about your bike (pub bike.)

I would recommend changing the brake pads, as the included ones don't really work at all.

Here's the original bike from the catalogue :)

    • Cheers, will add it to the description.

  • Thanks for the post OP.

I'm looking for the ladies bicycle from that same catalogue - anyone by any chance seen any leftover stock of this anywhere?

    • there's one more retro ladies bicycle at Pacific Square, Maroubra NSW yesterday. Not discounted though. Still $199

    • Yes, saw a couple in the Brisbane stores I went to last week when tracking down a 65" TV. They were Salisbury & West End but of course I don't know if they're still there today.

  • Is this one size only?

    • +1

      yes

  • Similar pricing to kmart's bikes?
