Sorry OP, but for that price after a $30 off coupon this isn't a great deal. It's a fantastic scotch for sure, but if I had access to that Amex $30 off this isn't how I would use it!

Yes, very much so.
It's meant to be. If you like a big peaty hit, don't get this one. It's very subtle. Still a good scotch but I think the age has killed off some of the smoke. IMO it could use more smoke and could lose some of bittery aftertaste (kind of similar to eating a grapefruit I guess?). I would buy many others around the same price before I bought this. But yeah thats just my opinion.
How dare you knock the Lagavulin 16? Take that back you cretin! This is definitely a typical big peaty Islay - one of the best for the price. If you've had Laphroaig its a smoother version with almost as much peatiness. One of my all time faves.
Haha I know, I'm a bit scared to go against the grain of what most scotch lovers think of it, and say its not one of my faves (and I am a massive peat fan). But yeah if I was offered the Laga 16 or the Laph 10 I would take the Laph any day of the week as I find the smoke more intense and the flavours seem to work better. But again. My opinion only.
My fave is the ugedail by Ardbeg. I get giddy just thinking about it.
Also need to spend 100$ to get the cashback.. if you get 2 bottles the discount isn't great there after.
Dan Murphy has this on sale at the moment for $79.95, so can price match at store (with 1st Choice) for 10c cheaper!
The bottle is $105 before discount (so the condition is met after purchasing 1 bottle). The price is $75 after the $30 cashback. But yeah, not the greatest deal thats for sure. Must be better things to get the CB on.
Note as at today, they now have this in the Specials @ $84.00 each so it'll be $69.00 each if you buy 2 in one pop and have it c&c'd (VIC)!
I personally will be going for the Ardbeg @ $65.00 each or Aberlour @ $55.00 each which are also on special!
