Not a Favorable deal for myself.

I Really hope Ozbargainer's don't pay that much for "Beats by Dre"

EDIT: I really hope Ozbargainer's don't buy beats by dre.

As for the price this does seem to be the cheapest, But again i hate these things and how much they cost, i wouldn't pay half that discounted price :P

Actually yes i would, and then ill sell it on ebay muhahahahhah

      Have you actually used one?

      • +3

Yes i Have, While they may of not been the newer versions of these, there ain't going to be much difference when you have sound equipment named after some celebrity, followed by plastic and a very high price tag. Not to mention apple owns it now :P

Oh and no i didn't buy them someone who was stupid enough to did, aka my cousin… (IMO of course)

I Don't have anything against them (trying very hard to not make my lie obvious here)

However i just hope people know what they are buying and these sure aren't worth the price :)

besides from that, the actual price seems to be the "cheapest" - I didn't check overseas as its a waste of time and money to buy plastic for that price

        • I personally thought Solo2 was alright. It wasn't to my taste (then again, the target audience Beats aims is not me), but it wasn't a bad piece of equipment. At least, I didn't think it deserves the mocking that Beats brand always brings.

The point I am trying to raise is, Beats Solo2 was nice imo and I think people should try it at least. I have no clue what Studio 2.0 sounds like though. That said, I personally thought Solo2 showed potential for Beats at least. I don't know whether your criticism is based on the newer models or not, that said I am sitting on "Beats deserves some trial" on this (The opinion on this I think is split in Audiophile community).

          www.head-fi.org/t/730815/beats-solo-2-is-the-head-fi-communi…

Also, if you are going to criticise a headphone for plastic, HD600 is mostly plastic (other than the headphone grill and the headband parts, at least that's what I could make out of).

        • @Oversimplified: Good Points, The Reviews seem to look okay, they are still expensive :(

        • @Tehcookiemonsta: Full size headphone at $300~400 isn't that bad. There are many options that are below that, but $300~400 isn't ridiculously expensive as there are many options that stetches to that.

fyi cost $16 of materials to build, including 'weights' to give the perspective of quality. Also includes $150 Apple tax

    • You are referring to a breakdown of a likely a fake Beats product of last generation.

Also in terms of material, I am sure many many headphones will be cheaper than their price, mainly because the materials probably are the cheapest part of the costs associated with the headphone. I've mentioned this before, HD600 is mostly plastic as far as I can see. R&D cost probably was recouped long time ago since it's a 20 years old model.

Also, if you are going to talk about "Apple tax" on their headphone/earphone range, can you get me a decent earphone with 2 Balanced Armature under $130?

I know Apple products get criticised for their ridiculous pricing (and I openly go against Apple products because of that). That said, in earphone/headphone department, at least for now, I don't think you could criticise them on that front. EarPods are decent enough in my opinion at their price range. Apple In-ear Headphone are amazing for their price as well (using 2 BA and all).

It's your loss if you rule out products out of the brand image you have on them.

  • Bought a pair of these and a pair of Bose QC15's a year ago for travelling. Mrs looked at me funny when I said I'm buying Bose.

Sure enough, whenever we go she bats her eye-lids to use mine! Save yourself the cash and steer clear of these!!

    • What are you trying to say? Beats are good, Bose are good, both bad or something else?

      • +1

I think he is saying the Bose is better than the Beats. I have mates that have the QC25 and QC15 and both have high compliments for them especially on a plane. Don't know anyone that have the Beat Studio 2.0, but when I went in to HN to try out, I think they are OK, I like the Beats Pro more but $500 is too much to pay for one.

        • thanks, have tried both and i prefer bose too, mainly because of around the year design and superb noise cancellation.

HN was selling Beats Studio 2.0 around $250, that was a week ago, rep said something about a VIP night.
