    Whats good about these bottles?

    • +2
      • Double-wall construction keeps water cold twice as long as regular sport bottles
      • Innovative, self-sealing Jet Valve(TM), eliminates splatters and spills
      • Lightweight, easy-squeeze bottle delivers the right flow to quench your thirst
      • 100% Free of BPA and BPS
      • TruTaste(TM), polypropylene with HydroGuard(TM), lets you taste your water, not your bottle
      • Removable nozzle for easy cleaning
      • Positive lockout for leakproof transport
      • Wide-mouth opening is easy to fill with ice and water and a breeze to clean
      • Also keeps warm beverages warm during cool weather rides
      • CamelBak(R), Got Your Bak(TM), Guarantee: If we built it, we'll Bak it(TM), with our lifetime guarantee

Its a good quality water bottle which keeps your water cold in summer for a few hours. I have had mine for a year now and they are still going great. I highly recommend giving them a try if you exercise outside in summer :)

TruTaste(TM), polypropylene with HydroGuard(TM), lets you taste your water, not your bottle

I've got one, and all I can taste is petrol instead of my water. I've cleaned it so many times. Hate this bottle.

        • Been using them for years, never had that issue. May be faulty? Doesn't sound right.

        • That's interesting. Did you only put water in the bottle or flavoured sports drinks?

        • +29

          @ShamelessBargains: …or petrol?

        • +4

@pacsman: wouldn't be too bad for petrol as you could squeeze it into the mower for example and not have any spillage. Would keep the fuel nice and chilled too :)

        • @ShamelessBargains:

Only filtered water and tap water when I wash. Could be faulty (somehow) since I don't feel like it keeps my water cold at all, despite keeping it in the fridge before I gym.

The bottle I replaced (Elite Superjossanova) from a previous ozbargain deal seems to keep the water cooler and tastes better, even though it's not insulated.

        • @paizuri5: The double wall construction is there to stop the liquid inside from becoming the same temperature as its surroundings. The water should be cold before you put it into the bottle.

        • @cold hotman:

The filtered water is cold (water cooler/filter).

A more pertinent question is what the heck are they doign in an e-gadget store? Do the sales staff try to sell you one when you buy a TV/radio/laptop etc?

"Good decision on the TV sir/madam. Now tell me, do you ever get thristy when watching the tele? Well have i got the solution for you!"

      • As Seen on TV…

fyi no discount on ebay with 15% c&c

    • Hoping they adjust prices, $8.50 would be a steal!

  • Camelbak Chute on special too. I wonder which is better.
    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/home-appliances/camelbak-chute-1…

  • for sports definitely go with the chill
i throw it in the fridge the night before and lasts most of the morning rides

  • +2

Great price on the kids range - most are $5. T-rex is $10: http://search.dicksmith.com.au/search#w=camelbak%20kids

Picked up a few - still seems to be a bunch in stock and for delivery. Great for little tykes, save $10 on the cheaper ones.

    • All of the kids range are now exhausted, would have been a great bargain.

  • +6

Great deal. and good water bottle. But I prefer the non chilled for the extra volume, you lose a bit to the double wall insulation.

But this surely stands out as a tribute to just how far Dick Smith went wrong. Water bottles. Who in the hell though stocking these was a fantastic way to make money for an electronics store?

    • I guess they thought diversifying their product range would help their bottom line. Their move into small home appliances is questionable too.

    • +1

And last week I saw JB Hifi selling kitchen appliances. These are strange times indeed.

      • Yup.
JBHiFi Home has been around for a while.
        They're all doing it. Madness.

  • I bought 2 0.6L last time when their 1L was not on special, i'm wondering if i need another 1L bottle? Hmm..

  • This is just about the only thing I will buy from DSE. Not been happy with the retailer for the past 12 months or so. Deserves every neg vote it gets and more.

  • I ordered the chill one above as was only one in stock near me I'm thinking now maybe I should not have as looks a smaller bottle?or is chill a better bottle?
As for kids ones are OK for 3 yr old going on 4?

    • Yup - perfect. Anti spill is a blessing. And they like that it is just a smaller version of what the big humans use :) Fits their hands !

  • +1

love my bottle but i really struggle to clean it. even taking apart the nozzle i find theres dark residue around some of the bottle lines

    • +3

I have had success with washing thoroughly with warm water and bicarb, including squirting the mixture out through the nozzle, then rinsing well and then the most important part is to air dry the pieces thoroughly. if it ever gets the grotty residue however this must be physically removed but since then I have been washing with the above technique and haven't had residue re-appear yet.

      • thanks for the tip, ill have to give that a go. ;)

  • If it says no store for pickup and no delivery does that mean I'm screwed? As in I can't get it?>

  • crimson is sold out

  • +1
  • Dang, missed the crimson

  • I ordered the Crimson for wife and myself from my local store how can it no longer be available don't understand as I'm sure at the time of ordering it said what stores had, surely it's not sold out Australia wide in ever store don't get it?and I'm taking as I ordered two from my store then they have two in store?thats unless someone goes to that store and picks them up before staff do as I believe they don't do this till hours later right?

  • Thanks, picked up another 1L Eddy.

  • +3

I bought this bottle the last time it was on sale for around $13, and there was so much hype about it being an amazing bottle, but its really not that great… At the end of the day, it's plastic and it seemed to melt my ice in less than 45 mins. Nonetheless, I still use it to this day, just because it's still better than a non insulated bottle, and the only convenience for me is that you can squeeze the water out. Just my 2 cents

    • +1

Lol. Lower your expectations :) Good sip/squeeze/seal mechanism, some mild insulation helps keep it a little cooler, and its convenient. Works well, but its not going to mow your lawn :)

      • +3

It will if you use it to store petrol (see above post)

      • Thats true thats true haha. I quietly love the sip/squeeze/seal mechanism as you mentioned. It just doesnt quite wow me with it's insulation.

  • 1L Eddy is out of stock.

  • Most are now out of stock, unless you want to spend $20 on fuel driving to woop woop to pickup a $10 water bottle…

    • woop woop

That's the sound of da police.

      • That's very common Australian slang for the middle of no where..

        • I am very familiar with Aussie slang. I grew up in the country. ;)

  • Pitty their click and collect doesn't actually know of any DSE stores in Australia.

  • I went to WW to buy a dick Smith gift card and came back and poof, all gone. Daammnn it

    • =)) better luck next time …

      • Ended up getting everything in store so I'm cheering!

Apparently there's one 3L backpack left at the Pitt St Westfield in Sydney

  • Thanks OP bought the 1L Eddy C&C Toombul

  • Bought it in the last sale.
It works reasonably well but I have noticed the plastic smell if you leave the bottle unopened for a while.

    • never close your water bottle after wash just rest the cap on top to keep dust out but dont screw it down when you put it away
also as soon as your done with using it rinse it and let it dry…never leave it in your bikes cage or bag to fester… do these things and it will stay fresh ;)

Thanks OP, these bottles are scanned at clearance price in store.

    • +1

What do you mean clearance prices hope not less than was on this deal?

      • +1

As in stated price in this deal.

        • +1

No worries as there have been better deals in store than online on some stuff and got me thinking could have paid less.

  • These are actually still in stock in store. I went to my local DSE and bought 3 for $9.98 each. None had the reduced price tags on but scanned for this price at the counter.

    • Cannon Hill had about 20 of the podium chill and 10 of the chute and the insulated bottles - marked at $9.98

  • Got 3x Camelbak water bottles @$9.98, 2x Powercubes @$10

    DSE Coburn Gateway

  • I missed out on the online offer but I picked up two podiums for the same price from Dick Smith Hornsby this evening. They still have stacks of Eddys in stock.

  • ..wouldn't be surprised if any neoprene insulator cooler koozie sleeve achieved more impressive results@~au$8eBay. w' stainless steel drink bottle or similar
    18 Dec 11:30am classical DSmith ad\ tease.
