NOOb question for Gold membership - can I "purchase" these somehow online but not install it to my XBOne during the time? Or do I have to login to my XBone to do this?
yes you can purchase online
"Online: You can redeem Xbox One and Xbox 360 Games with Gold titles at Games with Gold. They will be stored in your account and ready for download when you sign in to your console. Please note that you must have a credit card to "purchase" the free games on Xbox.com. However, you will not be charged for downloading a Games with Gold title during its free period on Xbox.com as long as you are an Xbox Live Gold member."

its the best way to do it cos then u dont need to download them, they just appear in the ready to install list which is on the right hand side of the my games and apps section
@HFB: I believe so.. its basically "purchased" at the time of the Sale.. so it will give you a perpetual license for it from there.
Is anyone having problems downloading the December games (e.g. Thief) from the Australian xbox store? It says the game is available from 16/12 - 16/01 but I can't hit the purchase button (it's 'greyed' out).
just manually search for those games and you can get them that way

FYI all 360 games released as free "With Gold" will be compatible with XB1 moving forward.

Killer instinct is free now for the game its just the extra fighters that are money which these give you

All the decent 'freebies' have been claimed leaving only gimmick avatar crap and maps for COD >.>
Also nice of microsoft to mention to new customers how to sign up for this 'vip' gimmick they have going…I logged in the day after it started and everything was already gone apart from the crap that is currently left. I'd say all the good stuff would have gone in the first 10 minutes. Plus it would have started USA time so we were screwed to start with.
note that dirt will also work on the xbox one I believe, it's a great game, very enjoyable
Can't add the XB360 DiRT Showdone on my XB1.
It just displays "Bundle Only" and If I 'click' through shows the message "We did not find anything".Is there a trick to getting a XB360 game to install on the XB1?
Login to Xbox Live Rewards to claim one free item. Most of the good stuff has already been claimed. Only few DLCs and one avatar item left under vintage goodies
