$20 off Purchases over $100 @ Venom Protein

40
MERRYXMAS

Not necessarily the best tasting or easiest to mix protein from my experience, but with $20 off $100 spend, it's hard to find protein any cheaper, especially if you bought the gift vouchers at 15% off with this previous deal…merry Christmas everyone..:)

Just tried code, said it was invalid?

    • That's weird, not working for me too…no start date on the email that I received too, so I assume it has started?? Hmmmmm….

  • Working now but only gives $18.18 discount for some reason.

  • These comments (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/207356) make me think that waiting for a BN deal might be better.

    • In my opinion, Venom is the protein powder to get if you're SUPER tight on money and watching every dollar. Their protein content has been proven to be decent with testing kits, but their flavours taste like chemicals and they're hard to mix.

  • These guys are the WORST.

I never received an order I put in with them several years ago. I emailed them, since that was the only contact available at the time, (I don't know whether this has changed since as I have never gone back) to ask them to chase it up with Auspost, as they claimed on their website that they send their parcels by registered post. Never heard a word back from them. AVOID like the plague!

I was lucky to get my money back via a credit card chargeback.

As above it's actually $18.18 as they apply the discount before GST is calculated. What ends up happening is that you still pay the GST component and never get the full $20 discount.

The same thing happens with the gift cards, and I have to email them asking them to complete the order using the remaining gift card credit. It's a broken system.

Anyway, I just bought 5kg of natural WPC for $80 = $16 kg. Thanks.

Did you actually pay $80 or $80.82?

Could you elaborate on that please?

Do you know if you can use their gift cards across more than one transaction, and also can you use two or more gift cards on one transaction?

So the problem is that the discount should be applied before GST but it's applied after?

        $80.82 - I couldn't be bothered emailing about 82c

You can only ever use 1 gift card per transaction, so both of the above scenarios are invalid. The best you can do is to purchase close to your gift card amount and then pay the extra (assuming the extra is not due to the GST calculation error). You cannot stack a gift card and discount code either as both use the same field.

So the problem is that the discount should be applied before GST but it's applied after?

Upon review of my receipt what is actually happening is the GST is calculated based on the original amount, and this is not updated even after the discount is applied.

So to fix the system they need to,

        a) Recalculate the GST after a discount is applied
        OR
        b) Include a GST component in the discount
