  • OP here… Just an update as I was writing my last comment the doorbell rang and I received my Persol at the discounted price, but my previous order which was at the non discounted price was cancelled? so glad I put thru a second order for the Persols missed out on the Dolce grey black.

    • Wow, congrats! When did you order yours? There seemed to be heaps of the Persol sunglasses that I ordered, so super confused why mine got cancelled.

      • First order which has cancelled Dolce grey for $90 was at 10:03am Fri 25th, second order with Bupa20 Persols $76.56 which was received ordered at 10:44am same day.
        edit: that's 10:03am Perth, WST

  • Had my Persol order cancelled.

    Have informed OPSM a refund is unacceptable and want a pair of similarly priced sunglasses.

    Next step, ACCC

    • Keep us updated; I've sent an e-mail back too. Simply stating there was a large amount of the item available when I ordered it, and that they can put my order on hold until they get it back in stock, or if they can track one down in a store in Victoria.

      Hey captain smash, I received my Persol sunglasses today. Zero communication from OPSM that the order would be fulfilled after the cancellation e-mail. Strange, but hey, perhaps you'll have the same outcome!

        • Yeah, tbh one of the strangest online transactions I've ever had.

      • So I got an email today stating they'll give me 70% off anything on the site. And guess what, a lot of the brands have been removed - like Persol. This is the smoking gun I needed for an ACCC complaint.

        • Yeah I noticed also that Persol sunnies all of the sudden have been completely pulled from the website. Also heaps of sunnies are unavailable online? For such an established company, you'd think they'd be a bit more organised. Good luck with the ACCC complaint, hope it works out. Seems like I'm one of the last random lucky few that got their orders fulfilled after a cancellation notice.

    Mine hasn't arrived yet, but I got a shipping notice yesterday at 1743 to say my 2 pairs ordered on the 29/12 were on their way. However, at 1400 today I received another shipping notice with an order date of today(!?) to say that only 1 pair was on its way with the same tracking number…umm, what!?

    EDIT - Just to clear up the order dates, I ordered both pairs in the one order on the 25/12 @ 1540.

    • Well I just got my delivery of one pair of Persols. I'm not sure where the other one is, but I'll have to give them a call tomorrow as the invoice in the box says quantity 2!?

        Called OPSM this morning. The one is on back order and might be delivered in around two weeks. I was lucky to get one and if the second arrives it'll be a bonus!

  • Thumbs up for the post, thumbs down for OPSM, I put an order in on Saturday for the Dolce & Gabbana Urban Essential for $72 and got a cancellation today, apparently they don't have stock. Well they certainly had stock because they took my money for an order.

  • I just went to an OPSM store to follow up on what's written on the website "This product is not currently available to purchase online, but you can find it at an OPSM store near you". The store staff checked for the D&G sunglasses I was after and there was 2 pairs left in Australia, 1 in Albury and one in Melbourne somewhere. Not good OPSM.

    • Were you able to grab one of them and complete your order this way rather than having it cancelled?

      • No my order was cancelled and they had no stock in store in my area. So what they are saying on the website about store stock is crap ! Looking around in the store they had hardly any sunglasses to purchase.

        • Ah, that sucks! I live in Melb and was hoping to perhaps persuade them to just fulfil the order if I pick it up from a local OPSM.

  • I received my pair of D&Gs today but they look nothing like the photo they are light pink and gold, not 2 types of purple like the photo. These were the Urban Essential ones

  • Yep. My second order was cancelled. Posted on their Facebook page, hilarious because mine actually said it had been SHIPPED, then cancelled!

  • I placed two orders one at the discount with code and one normal. The one with no discount for cancelled, haven't received shipping info on the other.

    Sucks to hear about all the cancelled orders.

    In their sale in April they were excellent. They sent out $30 vouchers if an order was delayed by a few days (and I only bought $90 and $50 sunnies). Was going to order online but they don't allow gift cards to be used online so I went in store and found the last pair of the D&G in at Queen Street in Brisbane on Boxing Day.

    1 x discounted price was cancelled

    Ordered 2, but 1 was cancelled because it was out of stock. Well seeing that many people didn't even get their orders, quite happy I received mine.

    received 4 out of 5, weird because when I called OPSM yesterday lady told me 2 where cancelled & 3 out of 5 should come, 1 of those will take a month & 2 where on back order, wasnt sure when any will come, next minute 4 out of 5 delivered today, she must have pushed through the order, missed the urban essential like everyone else..

      I refused to accept a refund as well and received probably the exact same response:

        • It's nearly the end of this week and I haven't received any communication. If I don't receive any information by noon, I'll be calling them up and asking to speak to Lavi personally. Extremely unimpressed.

        • @ascorbic: I've received my order. So there's still hope.

        • @b-hunterr: Called up yesterday, Lavi was conveniently 'away sick'. The person on the other end said they can't fulfil my order and just refunded the amount. She sent a 70% off offer by email. Sounds good but I'm not really satisfied, excludes Oakley and only redeemable for full price products available to purchase online. That means the 'not available to purchase online but you can find it in your local OPSM' products are ineligible, wiping out 70% of the options basically.

        • @ascorbic: that sucks, sorry to hear about that. Really have no idea why 1. some people randomly got refunded straight away, 2. some people got their order fulfilled straight away, 3. some got cancellation but still received sunnies and 4. other got delayed refund and "70% off" on limited online stock.

        • @b-hunterr: I guess I happen to fall into category 4. Oh well, I'll try my luck and ask if I can pickup an 'unavailable' item from a local store instead. How are the sunnies that arrived?

        • @ascorbic: I got a pair of Persol sunglasses. I'll have to see if they can be adjusted at OPSM as they keep slipping; but overall quite happy.

      Yup, received 2 emails about cancellation for 2 pairs of sunnies, but 1 pair just delivered to me with a note saying the other pair will be coming in 1-2 weeks.

        • They didn't refund the payment, so I still paid for both of them.

          I haven't got a refund yet, or a notification saying they have been shipped, or really any communication beyond those automated emails. The order still says 'processing' on the OPSM website.

          I'm really hoping that my order for the D&G DG6095's gets shipped though. If nothing happens by Friday morning then I will have to chase it up in the afternoon.

    My Persol sunglasses arrived! Super strange! Zero communication from OPSM about this. Received an e-mail stating my order was cancelled and I'd receive a refund within 3 days. In the end: No refund, and got my sunglasses delivered today. Strange but I'll take it!

  • Just an update on my order. Both of my sunnies are now cancelled and I have been given a refund for both glasses… Shame.

    Bought the oakleys and raybans with the same on a few days later so will see what I will do. I now have 3 pairs….fudge

    Just got an email from OPSM saying that they will provide 70% off any full priced sunglasses on their website (excluding Oakley) as a gesture of goodwill. The caveat is that it's not an online voucher, but I will have to call up and place the order over the phone.

    That's.. actually pretty great. It's not as good value as the 70% off + additional 20% off for the D&G's, but this way I guess I have more styles to choose from (always wanted a set of RB2140 in a dark brown tortoise shell).

    I'll just need to chase up the refund before placing another order - as I haven't got the sunglasses yet, a refund and the order still says processing on the website.

      I'm in the cancelled boat, order still says processing, no refund, no response to my email chasing it up. Quite disgusting really.

  • I had one order cancelled last week. Yesterday I received another email saying my second order had been cancelled too, an hour later got another email saying that second order had shipped.

    Today got a phone call from opsm regarding the refund. My PayPal email is different to the one I used to place the order so they couldn't process it.

    I asked the lady about second order and mentioned how it's been cancelled and then shipped. She checked and said it had shipped and they tried delivering it today but no one was home. Should get it Monday.

    Also had an order from the bupa sale, just got an email earlier saying it too has been cancelled and they offered me a 30% off voucher.

    The whole thing has been a big stuff up.

    This is the number that called if anyone wants to chase up their refund.

    Edit: Just went to the bupa site and the same glasses I ordered are still available to purchase but now at full price instead of the discounted price I originally paid for them. Dodgy work on their behalf. I have written an email back saying I don't want the refund and want the items I ordered.

    OP here… my story, very satisfied with OPSM!! Just got my refund took a little while but hay sometimes these things happen, it was boxing day! I got 1 out of 3 of my original order and was the first to order. Ordered 1 at full price then purchased two more at BUPA20%, Never got an email offering the 70% off like some of you did but thought I would call and ask if I could get the 70%off mentioned here and spoke to Alison who was very helpful and thanked me for understanding as some have really chewed her ear off. So ordered 2x wayfarer originally $200 each down to $60 really don't know why all the complaints I think they have been very fair.

    +1 for OPSM!! try getting that out of Gerry he would have called us professional's cancelled all orders offered zip and taken even longer with refunds!

      That's exactly what you were offered though? You only got 70% off because you asked for it,not because they offered it to you.

      I did not receive any such offer, in my mind they are still a bunch of unprofessional a-holes.

  • Tried calling to see what the hold up is with my refund but I guess they still do daylight savings in NSW for some reason. Had to resort to an email. Fingers crossed I get my refund within the week. Wish OPSM would have sent out an additional email stating refunds would be longer then 3 working days. I wonder if I will get BUPA refund first…

    Should of gone to specsavers.

    I was told the same thing, they suppose to have refund my $$$ within 3 days on the 30th of Dec and it's now 13th of Jan and nothing happens yet.

  • PayPal has said the refund has been cleared but I have yet to see it in my bank account. My Paypal balance is also nilch. Is this supposed to happen??

    • Same thing happened to me.

      Received a notification from OPSM and PayPal that my refund had been processed. I then went to check my bank balance and the refund hadn't appeared, but PayPal was showing the refund had already been sent into my account.

      It took about a week to go into my bank account and when it did, it was given the transaction time of when I received the email from PayPal a week earlier - weird.

      I should be getting delivered my RB2140's in tortoise shell tomorrow for $60 from OPSM.
