  is it a myth that you shouldn't draw too much power from your car as it might cause harm to it?

    it'll harm the batteries if you constantly deep cycle it eg. draining it low while the car isnt running. But you can get a special type of battery that can handle these types of use. A simple 30w charger will just tickle car batteries, running multiple kilowatt subwoofers while the car isn't running would be a problem. The worst that will happen is your battery dies and your alternator burns up due to it being on full blast all the time, trying to keep the batteries charged.

    The starter on your car draws over 200amps, these lead acid batteries don't mind at all.
