  • Many mobile phones can record 1080p and 2k video, what is the point of buying this?

      who needs a kwik-e-mart?

that's why these're selling for a fraction of a price it used to be 5-10 year ago.

    • Becoming legacy yes but some want decent quality besides resolution alone. Not me couldn't care less.

it has a much larger lens so captures more light, so works much better then a phone in low light conditions, much less noise from the sensor. Problems with phones is the small lens, ok for happy snaps, but no thing like birthdays parties with candelight, or night scenes.

That is why I have a phone, but also an SLR

Well the sensor here is tiny at 1/5.8"…

But zoom, stabilisation and battery life are big reasons to stick to the old camera.

You won't be using the 38x zoom, but something at 4x (~120mm) is very useful for everyday usage.

lol…..videos are more than just pixels.

My 4 year old Panasonic SD90 1080p camcorder destroys my Galaxy S6 phone cam. Ain't even close competition.

I use camcorders for family events and memories and phone cam for lame ass vacation showing off on facebook, because it's facebook quality at best.

I bought this camcorder mainly because of the optical zoom. Otherwise my Galaxy S4 takes decent videos.

    • Galaxy S4 video has a random popping noise which is annoying.

12 years ago I paid $2000 at Teds for Canon MVX10i video camera. It was a top of the range video Camera compare to that time.
Today I bought my second video Camera and most probably this is going to be my last Camcorder. Unbelievable difference in price.

  • Would be good for home movies in the bed room…
