This review suggests it is okay but not brilliant. The talkband is fitness tracker with bluetooth headset of questionable quality.

  • Those specs show four different models: M2-801L, M2-802L, M2-803L, and M2-801w. Of these, I'd guess that M2-802L is appropriate for Australia's mobile towers only because the similar suitable X2 7" tablet model is X2-802L. M2-801w does not support 4G. Anyone know which model is being sold by MSY?

    4G connectivity in Australia will cover channels 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 28, 40, and 42. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4G_connectivity_in_Australia Only the M2-802L supports all these channels, including channel 5 (Vodaphone 850MHz), channel 8 (Telstra 900MHz), channel 28 (Telstra/Optus 700MHz), channel 40 (Optus/NBN 2300 MHz), 42 (Optus/NBN 2300 MHz).

As for JB and HN, just don't see this model on their websites. https://www.jbhifi.com.au/Search/results/?keywords=huawei http://www.harveynorman.com.au/search/huawei/993?q=huawei%

Vodaphone has the M2 including 11GB data for $45 per month, total min cost $1080 over 2 years including tablet. 2.5GB data/month is $816 total. Looking at the bands, it's the M2-802L model. https://shop.vodafone.com.au/tablet-details/huawei-mediapad-…

I have the X2-802L, virtually the same tablet but 7" rather than 8" and I think it's really great. Battery life is extra long. Works like a phone too.

Edit: From the "LTE" in the title I'd assume it's not the M2-801w.

    • Spec was copied from MSY website so not too sure the exact model. That being said i am keen to check it out at local msy store next week. I was told by Huawei staff in Westfield Sydney cbd at their booth that JBHIFI and HN should have the same deal by now. Not sure why its not on their website yet.

      • I'd be 99% sure it's the 802L but it would definitely be something to verify.

Vodafone has the silver edition which is the basic model and only has 2GB ram and 16gb rom. The gold premium model has 3GB ram with 32gb rom. Both take microsd cards.

        • @arctan: Good point. The model numbers reveal the mobile bands, while "standard" or "premium" corresponds to 2GB/16GB/silver or 3GB/32GB/gold. Going by the X2 prices, gold version is probably priced around $100 more.

Although to make it more confusing, Huawei in China sells the gold with 3GB RAM and the option of either 16GB or 64GB ROM.

        • @arctan: And I just noticed that MSY's thumbnail shows the silver model but the title describes the premium gold model…

@twocsies: If you scroll down to the below and you can see the gold edition in the photo. I am sure it is the gold one at MSY. I'll check it out next week and hopefully to grab one.

  • fyi Talkband B2 scanned at $99 at DSE two weeks ago.

  • I own a talkband B2 and its only as good as $30-$40 Bluetooth headsets, regarding fitness tracker it doesn't correct information. Like it tells me I'm cycling while I'm driving (I don't drive that slow BTW) and other thing sleep and walk doesn't seems to be right too.
