James Boag's Premium 2x 6 Packs for $20 (50% off) at Liquorland

410

Just picked up 2 6 packs for $20 at my local liquorland (victoria).
They had a proper printed special label on the shelf- so it's probably everywhere?

Happy New Beer. :)

Edit: they have it listed online for $40/slab (see link) so presumably it's nationwide?

Not sure if this or Boags Red is worse.

my taste buds are directly connected to my wallet.

$20 for 12 full 375ml sized stubbies, 5% alcohol… makes it taste fantastic.

Much like the water from the dirty river it comes from.

        • Source?

        • @Putnum: "From the pure waters of Tasmania". It's an ongoing joke that they get it from the dirty Tamar or Esk river. They actually use normal tap water, but even that has been questionable in the past.

      • By the time you get to the 12th you won't be caring what it tastes like anyway but you will be happy it only cost you $20.

they taste better when combined. :P

    • Personally i think boags premium is decent. $40 a carton is a good price for sure

I personally prefer Premium Light as the taste is much better. Fortunately I'm in Tassie most of the time and $40 is the normal price ;)

  • yeah case is 40 bucks https://www.liquorland.com.au/lle2e/Product/544443/James-Boa…

anyone successfully used Dan Murphys price beat guarantee in the past on anything?

Dan's have them listed at $54/slab.

    • +2

Has worked for me a few times. Told them how much xyz was selling it for and not once did they bother checking. Seems that even the checkout person can adjust the price.

    • +1

Yes I have, in the past I have been able to show them a search result from boozle on my phone and have them match it.

    • yep took a printout of a carton that was cheaper at 1st Choice and they accepted it no problems - the bloke commented that bringing a printout makes it easier for them, funny how somehow a piece of paper (which I could have knocked up myself in word) carries more weight than showing them a website screen or email on your phone.

    • Tried to price beat at Dan Murphy's before on this, they said they'll match for me but they won't beat it

      • What a crock, they run tv ad campaigns which go on and on about beating competitors prices- then weazle out of it.

  • I don't mind this beer, but only buy on sale

  • Good deal just grabbed 2x6 packs from my local

Yeah great price. I haven't had this one in ages but it used to be a fav.
For those who aren't keen on this beer, I'd like to know what you say is better.

    • I used to drink this a lot, before they got bought out/changed the recipe. In my opinion it's not worth the money anymore.

My mainstay's these days are Hoegaarden, Pilsner Urquell, Stella Artois (when on special) or one of the James Squire varieties (although they are overpriced)
