Yeah i've got just the 3D theatrical versions of the 3 films that's long enough already.
You've done the right thing by not buying this set. It'll show PJ how wrong he was.
I think there is a (one) good film in there once someone does some editing. Dune, alien3, highlander 2 and star wars (despecialized) all were redeemed by fan edits.
I still think PJ is brilliant. The problems were not his fault.
I am planning to do a extended sextology Hobbit / LOTR marathon over the weekend - should be fun ….. :/

Was gifted the 3rd movie (3D extended) for Christmas. Now I'm trying to find the first two to match but no one seems to carry them anymore (can find them on Amazon UK though i guess). Is this is the only way to get them now?
The 1st movie (3D extended) is available from JB Hi-Fi https://www.jbhifi.com.au/movies-tv-shows/movies-tv-shows-on… but it seems the 2nd movie isn't available in Australia yet. The separate movies 3D Extended releases that are in Australia are the Limited Edition gift set with figurine statue. It's more than likely that they will release the 2nd movie (Limited Edition gift set) in Australia in the not too distant future.
At the moment the 2nd movie as Limited Edition Gift Set with statue is only available as an exclusive from Amazon but it's expensive $99.96 USD + delivery $169.80 AUD.
